Xbox is aware of this issue and is working on a fix. In the meantime you can try and offline update or the update troubleshooter. I'd also
advise doing a powercycle of the console. There is currently a service alert up related to this https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-live-status

Causing my xbox to freeze. Can't shut it down can't do anything. If they fried our boxes I want a replacement and 1yr free of xbox live. Been a member for well over 10 years you guys are starting to act like ea games. You can't even call support because
they took the number down and 4my xbox don't even work [Mod Removed].

Only thing I can suggest is trying the following:

Here are some things you can do:

Do a “hard reset” of your console by holding the Xbox on button until you hear it switch off.
Select “Stay offline”, and then attempt to manually connect to Xbox Live via the dashboard
Set your console to “Instant On” in the console settings, and then do a hard reset
Attempt to remove yourself from the Xbox One Preview Program (if you’re in it)
