    WIN 10 - Xbox One wired controller

    hello,

    recently i bought a xbox-one wired controller and connected it to my laptop (acer predator 17, i7-6700hq, WIN 10).

    the port is working and the laptop also recognizes the controller. there's just one problem which makes the controller unusable..

    here is a picture of the occuring error (with translations):

    Windows update     will update the drivers automatically. If there is any custom hardware in the computer; please contact the manufacturer of the hardware in order to download the drivers from their website. Be sure to let us know the results!

    the issue about not able to write crash dump is usually from a gpu driver error. when you updated the driver did you do a clean install of the driver or just update it.

    I am trying to donwload the latest nvidia driver, but i get errors like: "no compatible graphics driver found" and "not compatible windows version"

    not all, you can use drivers from NVidia, but the 820m is one that uses custom drivers, you have to edit the hardware ID's in all the INF files for the NVidia driver and then disable driver sig to install it, Acer are a nightmare for this as they tweak the hardware ID so it comes up as a mismatch.

    I have successfully edited Nvidia drivers to do this, and they work a charm, even getting gpu's that do not support windows 10 or above to actually work flawlessly.

    Hey, I have a problem with Sea Of Thieves. It keeps on crashing with a Error message on my laptop after I run it for like 5 to 15 mins. The game says that my graphic drivers have crashed.

    To expand on the Adviser's post (as not everyone knows how to uninstall video drivers!)....download DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) from:

    This completely removes the driver...restart the laptop then download the driver for your GPU direct from NVIDIA:

    https://www.nvidia.co.uk/download/driverResults.aspx/197487/en-uk

    Restart your laptop once installed. If the issue continues, then it's possible a recent driver update caused the issue (NVIDIA drivers have been a bit flaky recently) so I would uninstall again using DDU and then install an older driver (just click the search button on the following to get a list):

    If you know when the issue started, then install the NVIDIA update that is before the issue started
