    For several weeks, I had an issue where often when I would turn on my Xbox I would get a party invitation from a 13 year old relative, *even though my account was set to 'appear offline'*. This would happen all the time so finally I asked him how he knew
    when I signed on and he said "Fortnite told me". Seems because my Epic account is linked to my Xbox account, Epic chooses to simply ignore the Xbox setting and informs everyone you are online. (You don't even need to be playing an Epic game, he's notified
    as soon as I open the Xbox app for instance).

    I personally think that the Xbox setting should supersede any other linked account. It's a pretty big security loophole since most people have no idea that something like Epic can continue to notify people you are online, even when you believe you are appearing
    offline. (There are many parents who use the online/offline setting to help monitor their minor children's online activity). Microsoft should really require other linked accounts to check the Xbox OS setting and have the setting of their accounts match.

    Is there anyway to stop this from happening? I haven't found an 'appear offline' setting on the Epic account, and it doesn't seem like there is currently any setting on the Xbox to address this issue.

    There is also an option in the Xbox settings to 'appear offline' it's in the my Profile Tab. Check this to see if it is set to appear offline.

    This is definitely a Live issue, not an issue with Epic or Gears.Two things to check: verify that your Family/Privacy settings regarding online play have not been changed and check to make sure your account is not in arrears. If you've used prepaid cards
    recently, your account could still have some features blocked if you previously used a credit/debit card to auto-renew/subscribe. If you owe anything, that debt will supersede any redeemed prepaid codes.

    Is it possible you accidentally set yourself to "Appear Offline"?

    Select your profile on the Xbox Guide and make sure you have not selected the "Appear Offline" option. It is a setting you can toggle to remain connected while appearing offline to everyone.

    If the restart didnt fix your probelm try toggling appearing offline
