Entering a code for a new game

What it's mostly likely asking for is a code for Gold, not the game itself. Sea of Thieves is an online only game and a Gold subscription is required to play online.

I have figured out how to enter the code on my XBOX device using the hand controller.

Now it tells me that the code has already been redeemed.

Mincecraft let me use the code to play for free and I thought it would be the same for Sea of Thieves (the full game card came with the XBOX). I dont want to subscribe to an online service if I dont have to.

So effectively, unlike Miecraft, the only way to play Sea of Thieves is with a Gold subscription.

So I need to subscribe or have a very unhappy son - great !

Welcome to the Xbox family! For Xbox subscription codes:
Check
Services & subscriptions from a PC to see if the subscription has already been redeemed with your account.
For Microsoft gift card codes:
Check your
order history from a PC to see if the Microsoft gift card has already been redeemed with your account.
For game content codes: Check your
game collection from a PC to see if the game is there.

Make sure you are logged in with your main account, the one you are going to use with your new console and made the purchases with. You can also try to power cycle your console by holding the power button on the front of the console for a few seconds.
It will restart and then try to launch the game again.

I bought the game and when I enter the pass code it give a message that says " This code isn't valid. Please enter a valid code. I went back to the shop and they gave me a new code and still when I connect on line and enter the code the same message comes
on so what do i need to do here ?
