    Enough space for Xbox One?

    Hi guys

I've recently upgraded my old Falcon 360 to a 360S am am really enjoying the newer version of the 360, its si much quieter Enough space for Xbox One? :)

Despite promising myself I was not going to be swayed by next gen consoles for a while, I'm now seriously considering getting an Xbox One. I wasn't keen on the design of it at first, but the big beast is starting to really grow on me. I'm also really impressed
by it's all round media capabilities. The only issue I have is lack of space. The shelves on my wooden TV unit are roughly 48cm wide by 12cm high. The Xbox One will fit, however there will only be around 4cm or 1.5" clearance above the console, so my main
concern is cooling, as I know the main vent and fan are on top of the console. Thankfully, the unit is open front an back, so air can circulate and I have been running my 360S there for a couple of weeks without overheating issues ( the wooden shelf above
the vent gets a bit warm to touch, as do the 360's main vent, but nothing to worry about as far as I can tell.)

I have even considered a PS4 instead, as it vents out the back rather than the top, but I really prefer the Xbox One. Buying a new TV stand is not really an option either, as this current one was a compromise with my Girlfriend. I'm hoping the Xbox One will
be fine in this space, as even though there is not a lot of room above, there is room for the air to go front and back. I would upload a photo of the unit but can't see a way to do it.

    Opinions?

    Thanks

    :)

The xbox one is a much cooler and quieter console than the 360, so if you've been ok with your slim, then i'd say you'll be fine mate

    Thanks for the replies.

Here's a link to a picture of the unit. The Xbox One will be going where the 360 is now:

I guess putting the console in a unit is not optimal, but only really an issue if it is completely enclosed with doors and a solid back. I've also been reading that the One has a lot of safety measures in place to help prevent overheating. Happy days Enough space for Xbox One? :)

That should still be fine. The Xbox One has a pretty large fan inside to help keep it cool and there will still plenty of airflow around there.

Are you not keeping your Xbox 360? The Xbox One does not play Xbox 360 games you know. You could still have both on there, just ditch that DVD player, it won't be needed anymore.

And yes, the Xbox One can manage it's own cooling a lot better than the 360 can.

The 360 will probably go in the bedroom when I get the xbox one. Unfortunately the DVD player has to stay as it's also the amp for my surround sound system, otherwise I probably would have both consoles in there.

This reminds me that I really need to swap my Xbox One and PS4 over as for some reason I have my PS4 on the larger shelf and the Xbox One on the smallest shelf lol!

  11. Gets very hot but I've never seen that overheating message. Have my One inside a closed cupboard and it's been fine there for 9 months now.
