While my cousin and I were playing Rainbow Six Siege yesterday, talking in a party like we usually do, We decided to joke around in our messages. He messaged me "Glaz mine dont make me tk" and wanting to keep the joke going I messaged him "**** u I ****
u mum" He jokingly decided to report the message and added the comment, "i dont want him to **** me mum." To both of our suprise I was immediately banned. So I have two questions for the support team. Can this be undone, and why is this obvious joke between
two accounts that have been favorite friends for over two years taken so seriously while the countless little kids who harass me and my friends get away scott free? Both my cousin and I have reached out to support with no avail. I've never been banned before.
I'm a long time xbox fan and user, but if this is how the support and enforcement team treat their loyal customers than all that might have to change. -Jadon

One thing that we're maybe forgetting...

Why do you think the xbox one has mandatory checks on games within 24hours and Sony doesn't? It's blatantly obvious Sony won't enforce the same level DRM as the xbox one.

 

Sorry to hear about the suspension but the Xbox Support team does not handle enforcement actions. Suspensions are handled by the enforcement team and are fully investigated by them. To have your incident reviewed you need to file a case review with the
enforcement team for which the instructions to do so are at this link: https://enforcement.xbox.com/en-US/home/howto#sub-topic0-6

Be advised that part of the case review process is to take a quiz over the code of conduct to test your understanding of it, you must pass it or you will have to wait 24 hours before you can try again. remember that you agreed to the code of conduct when
you signed up for xbox live services.

Be aware that there is No Such Thing As A Joke Report in the eyes of the enforcement team and all reports are investigate and actions taken on them as such. Also there is no such thing as a joke communications that has content that violates the code of
conduct and terms of Use. Xbox Live is a rated E for everyone service and all communications must be kept at that level of conversations. I look at it this way, if it shouldn't be said in front of a 2yr old then it cannot be said on Xbox Live. You don't
call 911 with a joke call, so you don't file a joke report.

Try the case review and see what happens, no guarantee but it can hurt to try.

Only an enforcement team member can respond to any specific suspension items. You'll have to submit a
case review if you want any additional details or to appeal your suspension.

A friendship/relationship can dissolve quickly without notice so how would any onlooker know your messages are a joke.

 

To the people who said I should submit a case review: I appreciate the suggestion, but unfortunately I tried that last night. According to the vague, copy paste message I got "Due to the seriousness of this violation, we will not be lifting this suspension
under any circumstances." It just seems strange to me that a joke is take so seriously but the reports I send about cheating, and true harassment goes by unnoticed. (P.S. The curse word in the messages was purposefully incorrectly spelled because we were trying
to joke with each other. [spelled f--u--k] Also, I was in a party with my cousin as the messages were being sent, so I know for a fact that he didn't take the joke the wrong way. He even went out of the way by trying to make it clear that the report was not
to be taken seriously. We've been so used to the Enforcement team being largely unresponsive and figured that they would continue to act in such a manner. And while I agree that the report system should not be used as a joke, it wasn't within my power to stop
my cousin from using the system as a joke. I hope this clears some things up.)
