  1. Enforcement team needs to level the playing field and take things in context

After 10 years of loyal gaming and 3 XBOX 360 consoles and well as my second XBOX One. Always COD. I have never had a disciplinary action. Now in the last 6 months I have had 2. This last one 7 days. Now I acknowledge that I will respond when folks spam
me with flash grenades, team kill me, send me horrible messages, swear at me, etc. However that is my point.

If, as a loyal player for a decade, the enforcement team does not protect my gaming experience, then why do they exist. 99pct of the time I am responding to someone smack talking me, randomly team killing me until they get kicked and then joining in to
do it again. running around and flashing our team ( I usually play in a party but not always a full team).

The block feature doesn't appear to work to keep people out of a game, I usually just mute people although they can somehow join my party even when they are blocked and reporting them doesn't lead to anything. Literally, I have asked a few people before
that are dropping all kinds of racist comments, etc, and they just say they always do it, go ahead and report them they have never been banned.

This is a rated mature game. I do swear, but don't make racist comments or anything along those lines and the gaming experience outside the lag is getting worse and worse with this game and now a person can't even stand up for themselves.

Now I know the enforcement staff will likely come on and give an out of context description of what happened. Since I literally have no information, I can't even defend myself, but I am sure it was probably me blowing a gasket after being team killed and
then spammed with stun grenades. I have a conversation in my chat right now where someone is mentioning team killing our team and came in the came and just started doing it.

I am literally considering voting with my wallet and migrating to Playstation. Having a "black box" enforcement is a joke, it does not provide a level playing field it enables people to be baited, then reported by groups of trolls and doesn't enable serious
    players to enjoy the games.

I feel like my other option is to report every singe person that swears, sends crass messages, boosts, cheats (or maybe it is just lag but repetitive white "x" hit markers on people in HC is a little ridiculous with a 130M Download and 30M upload speed).
However, enforcement team, if I play for 2-3 hours I will have to report 10 or more people per session because it is continuous.

Lastly, why ban communication in party or with friends. Other than people I play with that are folks I have their phone numbers, they have no idea I can't talk back to them and it is not helping their experience to not have me making callouts and participating
in the team work of working with a team. They certainly aren't the ones that reported me and having hundreds of friends with more invites every day, I think in general I am an asset to the gaming community. Just like in real life, I stand up for myself
and match force with force and I don't see why a virtual community should expect different when it is supposed to be for a mature audience.

I will be reporting nonstop it seems to level the playing field for myself. But you, as a team, need to review and revise your process instead of living in an ivory castle and providing zero transparency. Very few companies operate that way. Otto Berkes
created the idea of Xbox live (and HBO to go) you should read his new book about the application economy and customer experience, you could learn a lot about what drives your primary market in this experience.

    :)

    GAMERTAG CHANGE

If it offends you, file a report and it will get looked into. I am just saying that context would decide whether or not the Enforcement Team were to take action on it - and by context I mean the rest of the Gamertag, the profile, bio, motto and so on. If
they all also refer to or insinuate drug use/culture, it is more likely that action would be taken than if you simply have the number and nothing else referring to it.

    HALO 4 Assists.

Is it just me or is the assists in this game the most obnoxious thing I have ever encountered in online playing? It's like I'm fighting enemies but my team mate just spawns from left field with a DMR and easily takes every single kill in the battleground.

Reporting someone if they are breaking the rules does work.

You are not told the results of any report you file so don't know whether these people have been suspended or not.

Very rarely you may get a thank you message if someone is banned/suspended due to a report you've filed.

Blocking only lessens the chance of not being matched online,it doesn't guarantee it.

Doesn't matter who starts something,if you respond in a way that violates the ToU/CoC you risk enforcement action.

The age rating on a game has nothing whatsoever to do with the online side of things or xbox live.

The rules are pretty much the same over on PSN

Nobody cares how long you have been a subscriber and you don't get any special treatment because of the length of time you have been a subscriber. If you break the rules and get reported AND the report is valid you will receive punishment period.

Report away but make sure they are valid complaints as action can be taken for filing false reports.

No one cares if you go to PlayStation either so have at it.

  6. I appreciate the information regarding blocking as I hear many folks bring that up.

Otherwise your response was about what I expected and shows your process is broken. You are unable to provide a safe gaming environment. And when someone is bullied by being harassed, team killed, flashed repeatedly, messaged inappropriately, and you don't
respond so they stand up for themselves, the victim is considered just as guilty as the bully or instigator. That is broken.

The lack of feedback is also concerning, generally in any other forum (ie real life) , you are given the time the violation took place and some background so you can a. Understand the violation and b. Explain/defend yourself. In a paid service, you would
expect to be able to at least speak to a human and get these details. Hiding behind a computer does not give any accountability to the staff enforcing the rules.

I mentioned PSN for several reasons, one I know they have the same rules but have seen evidence that their enforcement is better at communicating and 2 to vote with my wallet that I don't think the current process is as good as it could be.

I do find it interesting that game rating doesn't impact the flexibility in enforcement. I would never let a kid play an MA game and would expect the general conversation to match the game which has profanity and violence in it.

In my experience in COD there is profanity, racial comments, and all kinds of "violation behavior" multiple times in a single 3-4 hour gaming session in just the hardcore game modes which comprise less than 15 percent of the players in a single online game

  7. Didn't ask for special treatment noting that I have never had a discipline action in 10 years and all the sudden got 2. Never changed my style but have noticed a growth in the number of people trying to ruin others game experience and a lack of anyone stopping
it so I do find myself responding to it back being a silent victim. Glad you took the time to. It read the above and way in

And again thank you for your concern about my ability to make a valid report. Again my point is I don't report people, I mite them and let them deal with their own behavior issues or xbox. Since that isn't happening and standing up for myself is per the
above as wrong as beomg attacked while playing. I will up my efforts to report any infraction I see and hope some action is taken.

Lastly, Thank you for speaking for Microsoft and the entire Xbox community regarding my thoughts of voting with my wallet. The point of starting a thread is to try and improve the process and experience and learn more about the enforcement process and express
    my personal f

frustration at the way it has worked for me recently vs. historically. Unless you have actual input into improving this, jumping in to state the obvious is not helpful nor is it productive.

You are moaning about a lack of enforcement etc. yet you don't report people who violate the ToU/CoC ?

There are over 50 million xbox live users, the enforcement team can't monitor every single one & rely on peoples reports in order to know who to investigate.

The tools are there to make it a "safe gaming environment" but if you wont use them then what do you expect Microsoft to do?

  9. Way to deftly side step my other comments about your broken process that provides 0 details about the event that got me a disciplinary action. Blindly following a broken process is not going to give you a good result. If you weren't all unreachable this
would be the point I would ask to speak to a manager or director who actually cares about their team doing a good job and improving their process.

And believe me I will report every last violation I see. I was trying to avoid reporting people when they might just be having a bad day but am happy to report every fraction large or small even though I highly doubt any action will be taken .

If there are any options to speak to someone at a higher level I would still be interested in helping improve the process. But not this type of unproductive conversation where you basically are skipping half the content and then referring to me as "moaning
about enforcement" when I have been nothing but professional when inquiring about the process and my frustration with your service

You do realize you're speaking to other gamers, not Microsoft employees right? This is a community based forum. There is no way to speak to the enforcement team directly. You can try contacting support, but they don't handle enforcement issues. Contact Us | Xbox Support

  11. Thanks for that info, I assumed Microsoft at least moderated the forums regarding account questions. Having never had this issue I hadn't visited the forums.

I was going to suggest maybe they send an in game clip of offenses and say "don't do that" instead of having this kind of issue but apparently I was correct in my assessment that they sit in a little ivory tower and are disconnected from the reality that
they provide a service and should try and improve that service . Appreciate the insight
