  1. Enforcement Page "Good Player" and XBL Profile "Avoid Me"

    Hello,

My son's account went to Avoid Me back in June. I took X-Box away from him for the summer so he can enjoy being outside instead of stuck in the house. Plus, I figured having him away from XBL for a few months would normalize his reputation.

When I check the X-Box Enforcement page, his Reputation is Green "Good Player" for the month of September. When I sign into XBL and check his profile, it still shows "Avoid Me".

After 2.5 (almost 3) months of not playing, is there a reason why his profile still says Avoid Me, especially when the Enforcement page shows Good Player? I was on hold for 55 mins before finally getting in touch with XBL Customer Service.

They could not explain this and suggested I create a post here for further assistance. With Destiny 2 coming out tomorrow, my son is looking forward to getting back on the X-Box with his buddies to play, but with an Avoid Me rep on his profile, he won't
be able to find games with them. He also does not want to use another profile as he's built this one up for a few years now.

Can someone please explain why the Avoid Me rep on his profile hasn't changed in almost 3 months? Also, why doesn't the XBL profile reflect what's being shown on the Enforcement page, which says his profile as a Good Player "Green" for this month. I'd appreciate
it if his XBL profile can be updated and the Avoid Me be removed.

    Thank you!

    :)

In order to improve rep, you have to play online without getting reported. So not playing at all actually just keeps your rep in place.

The website and profile don't always sync up for some reason.

your son's true rep is only on his profile

And is a live shot of it

As switches mentioned he's going to have to improve his behaviour and go into public matches and get along with his fellow players to improve his rep

HJust a fyi support has nothing to do with reputation

It is the community's opinion on how your son gets along with his fellow players only by improving his sportsmanship will he improve his rep just like real life there is no reset button for reputation

Only by changing g his behaviour will his rep improve

  7. Thank you for the replies. It's very strange that the rep doesn't change over a 2.5 - 3 month period even when he didn't play. The worst part is, he's unable to find any matches in Gears or War or Destiny because of the rep on his profile is still Avoid
Me. So how is it supposed to ever go down?

I would assume the Enforcement page and the XBL Profile would sync up and show the same reputation. To show 2 different reputations makes it very confusing because during this summer I tracked his rep on the Enforcement page and noticed some of the reports
    against him went away.

Since playing with other players will be hard with his rep, does anyone else know of any other ways to fix this? He literally didn't play all summer because we assumed that giving it a rest would eventually fix the poor reputation on it's own, it's very
odd that it doesn't do that. So if he never plays XBL again, his rep will remain Avoid Me forever? Hmm, that just doesn't seem right.

He would need to try playing other games. Free to play games are usually good for improving rep. Games like World of Tanks and Neverwinter.

Just to add,the enforcement site only tracks reports from the past 6 months which is why some went away.

  10. Thanks guys/girls, I will have him try that. Poor guy is upset because I took away his X-Box all summer as a punishment and now with his rep not changing, he's having a difficult time finding matches in Destiny.

When I use to play X-Box myself years ago (360, not One), there was a way to improve reputation. The rep system on X-Box One is extremely poor in my opinion and really needs to be updated.

there was no rep system in xbox 360

Just because you don't understand it doesn't make it invalid

People.have the right to avoid bad players it helps.their enjoyment

99.9% of live can get along why can't your son be one of them

    Teach him better sportmanship

And there is no parental reset on reputation in real life what makes you think there is one on networks?

the avoid player flag on 360 isn't the same as reputation

You should teach your son that his behaviour is a direct affecting his rep just like in real.life

Avoid player flag only reduced the chances of matching with said player nothing g to do with rwputation

There was a "Rep" system on the 360, so you're wrong on that.

I do understand the XB1 Rep system now, however I disagree with the system.

Of course people have the right to avoid someone, but it's very simple for someone to easily "avoid" another player and 99.9% of people who avoid don't always do it with the right intentions. My kid is 9 years old, he isn't very good but still plays games.
You know how many people send him hateful messages and probably avoid him solely off his game play, not his sportsmanship like you're assuming.

Don't ever tell me or anyone else how to be a parent or how to teach a kid something, because you're completely off base. I came here with a concern, you don't need to assume things and act like that. My kid is fine, doesn't use a mic and doesn't reply back
to any messages. If he plays MP on Gears of War or other games, do you know how toxic players are who just report others for the most nonsensical of reasons? Clearly you don't and with a reply like that, it's very strange Microsoft would want you as an Ambassador.
I get it, you're going to defend the system and whatnot, but you're assuming a lot of coming off as completely arrogant.

99.9% is another assumption, so please don't throw around numbers without data to back them up.

Again, you are assuming my child has poor sportsmanship, but that's not the case as I mentioned above. If you check the Gears of War forums, you'll see many people claiming to reports other players for all the wrong reasons, one of them being when they get
paired up against players with lesser skill. Is that a good enough reason to have an "Avoid Me" rep for 3 months. No, it's not.

Thanks for the reply, but there's no need for you to reply with anything else as I'm sure it won't be very constructive like your previous reply. Oh not to mention, full of assumptions.

  14. If that's the case, then the system on the 360 is clearly superior than the one on the XB1. Are there plans to revisit the broken XB1 Rep system?

Again, my son's behavior is fine. I monitor him often. He doesn't use a mic, doesn't reply to messages, etc. I don't need to be told what I should teach my child from you. I am certain the majority of people reporting him from Gears of War were people who
felt he wasn't good. His behavior has nothing to do with it, but thanks for the advice.

    Take care.

You don't get it do you

    The community decides your rep

If they feel your son is a bad sportmanship thats their opinion and ironically that's the one that counts not yiurs if 99.9% of live has no rep issues then the issue isn't the system

You can blame the system but the system is actually your fellow players

    Which includes 99.9% of live

Xbox isn't the only system with rep blizzard and psn and steam have it in something form

False reports are tossed out and doesn't affect your rep

If positive reports out weight the negative then guess where the negative goes in the trashcan

    You don't get it

Behaviour includes actions and words not a outsider watching in

Really your Son doesn't communicate with his team and yet he is a team.player

    Guess where th teamwork.score goes

You see the issue with your argument

You claim the system is broken but it's not decided by yiu

You claim he is a good sportman yet he doesn't communicate with his team

No communication is just as bad on rep as bad communication

You hav to work with your team period

You don't listen to your team leaders command guess what

    Not team work

So where is the invalid rep?

    That's only one example

A player who refuses to work with a team isn't a team player hence the sportmanship score which is the most common

Not a good player also a valid rep score

Not sure where you don't see the valid.reports ? If they think he isnt good enough maybe thy are right

You do realize that if he's a weak player or not good enough that communication makes up for it righone

Reputation is part of his score as a player if he's a weak one

I'm weak on gears myself but I dont get bad rep scores guess why?

I work with my team as best as I can and communicate

360 also had a similar system

Player zones you set your zones ar paired within thebetter

Avoid me is the same not good players or bad sportmanship or communicator

Well you can be with the needs work.or avoid me if you end in those rep zones and work towards getting better and yes that's the design

He can join private matches or open matches
