    Enforcement overturned my forced name change, original name not given.


    Hey, how are you?

    After 18 years my gamertag was forced to be changed by xbox representatives.

    I registered it in 2002 when xbox live was first launched.

    I petitioned they give me back my original name, they reviewed and agreed they made a mistake.

    Upon retrieving my old name there is now #98xx after it.

    My friends with their original GT do not have # after their name, and neither did I before June 22nd.

    I cannot contact enforcement again and chat support didn’t understand what I was asking.

    Enforcement said my GT would be returned to original state, who can I contact to make the right change? Thank you.

    Rules that incure financial penalties

    If you were given a forced gamertag change, you would need to go to http://enforcement.xbox.com to see about submitting a case review. If the enforcement team overturns their decision,
    you will be given a free change. Otherwise, you would have to pay if you want to change your name. They used to allow free changes with forced gamertag changes, but that was abused so it was taken away.

    Not true.If a forced name change is deemed as unwarranted & the enforcement action overturned then the person does get their old gamertag back.

    The very same thing happened to an ambassador a while ago & they got their original gamertag back.

    While it is rare it's not unheard of for a forced name change to be reversed.

    Not sure why this hasn't happened in this case but to be honest,even though support are nothing to do with enforcement issues i'm not surprised the op has been given the run around.Support has gone drastically downhill lately.

    I really don't know what to suggest as the enforcement team are the only ones who can deal with this & the only way to contact them is via a case review if you have a current enforcement action on your account.

    For information on why it was changed and to see about submitting a case review, you would need to go to http://enforcement.xbox.com If the forced name change is overturned, you will be given a chance to change it for free. If it is upheld, you will have
    to pay if you want to change it and you would not be given a refund.

    This forum is largely user based. You would have to continue working with phone support to try to get a refund.

    Support sends people here on the belief that the enforcement team will issue a forced name change and you will be given a free change, but that is not the case. The enforcement team does issue forced name changes, but you cannot contact them directly to
    get one and forced changes are now given a randomly generated tag.

    If it was a forced name change you should of been sent a email explaining why or you can check on the enforcement site HERE

    It's highly unlikely your were issued a forced name change as the gamertag you were given does not match up with the gamertags the enforcement team issue when someone receives a forced name change.
