  1. Enforcement Clarity (Time for an overhaul?)

First of all, thank you to all the Xbox/Microsoft Mods./Ambassadors that respond during the most random hours of the day when Microsoft Xbox Team isn't directly available.

I've had a bit of an issue that was caused by Diablo 4 in particular. I've received 3 strikes in the last 4 months.

However, it's not so much about these minor strikes as much as it is about how they are addressed. After receiving my 1st strike which was a 1 day ban, I reached out to Xbox/Microsoft to see why. Because the enforcement was not severe enough I could not appeal. I spoke with an Xbox/Microsoft agent who referred me back to the appeal system if I had a concern as well as the code of conduct/enforcement policy.

Although he was polite, I still ended up back in square one, now I've been an advocate for a long time and team Xbox, but this kind of stuff is frustrating, the agents hands were tied.

I attempted to find a resolve again, spoke to an Xbox mod, who was actually a little more sympathetic as to my situation but also stated I could just wait it out.

I still didn't have an answer to my question as to why I was suspended and primarily wanted to know for future prevention.

I'll give as much detail as I can on what I did about 1 minute before being banned in all 3 instances. (THANKS FOR READING THIS FAR IF YOU MADE IT Enforcement Clarity (Time for an overhaul?) :))

Now most games have discussion threads, and Diablo 4 being as popular as it is, is riddled with companies spamming the buying of in game gold, items/weapons and materials. Maybe 1 out of every 5 posts. Some people post looking for mats or needing help/wanting to trade etc.

The game itself allows trading of gold/items/material. In my first instance, I posted that I wanted to trade in game items for in game items. Literally 1 minute after, I was temp banned with my first strike. The only thing I could imagine is that the spammers/website members reported my post right away as I can hurt their business. (Instead of people buying from them with cash, I was willing to trade for in game items.)

    I was stunned.

In a future season, I offered in game gold for some materials I needed and boom! Again, I was temp banned.

Yesterday, I posted that I had an item available for in game gold and boom! Again banned.....(this time for 4 days).

Is trading and selling in game items not allowed or something? If so, why are there so many accounts selling items for cash every 5 minutes via websites.

Nonetheless, the agent nor the xbox mod could see what I did....I was just kind of left in the dark.

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

    :)

Enforcement Clarity (Time for an overhaul?)

Since the game is set up for trading, you are allowed to do so in game. LFG posts are not in game. So offering to buy/sell/trade anything in them is not permitted. LFG posts are only for looking for other people to play a game and should essentially just be "I'm looking for X amount of people to play this game". Those other posts selling items for cash are not allowed either and the enforcement team would take care of them as well as long as they are reported.

    Xbox Enforcement Needs an Overhaul

    Some context...

I have been banned on Xbox (never more than two weeks) 5 separate times throughout my 8+ years on the platform. Every time I am banned, it is over something completely asinine. First of all, how can we ban people for using "curse" words when we all play games with curse words in them? If you don't want people sending curse words in messages to, let's say, younger kids, then force people under 18 to have their settings optimized so that they may not receive messages and such, unless it's from friends. basically, let's all grow up. In the real world, you can't just "ban" people for saying "**** you" to someone and honestly, when people say it online, I would venture that it is extremely warranted. Banning people for words and language is totalitarian and should be a first amendment violation. Also, if you're going to ban people who send "mean" or "inappropriate" messages, banning them from party chat makes absolutely zero sense. How does someone messaging "insert one of Microsoft's crybaby words" have anything to do with being in a voice chat with people on your friends list. Secondly, Every. Single. Case. that Microsoft Enforcement hands out should be able to be reviewed and appealed. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. Do you realize that in the real world, people actually get a trial and such when they are in violation of the law? Why should an online community not operate under the same guidelines in the United States? The Xbox Live Enforcement team is basically comparable to Nazi Germany. Everyone who doesn't fall under Microsoft's little umbrella of safe words, gets banned with no real explanation. Why am I writing this post now, you might ask? Lets delve into my current situation...

I was just given a "one day ban" (Note: The ban is from 02/16/2021 @11:37pm until 02/18/2021 @ 3:37am (NEWSFLASH! That's longer than one day you imbeciles)) for calling an individual "gaylord". First, "gaylord" is in NO WAY an offensive term, not even in the slightest. A quick google search (Go ahead, do it with me so you can bask in your ignorance) of the term "gaylord" brings up a variety of business websites and a wikipedia entry, none of which are slang terms or insults. Secondly, have any of you uncultured idiots ever heard of the movie "Meet the Parents"? If you had seen the movie (You either haven't or are too stupid to get any references from it) you would notice that the main character's (played by Ben Stiller) name is "Gaylord Focker". One more time...GAYLORD FOCKER. So, I was essentially banned for calling someone a character from a movie. Xbox Live Enforcement passes down an immense number of bans, just like this one, with no review or self-awareness. Basically, there are two conclusions...A) Microsoft has little care for anyone's rights. or B) Microsoft is too lazy to actually take safety on it's platform serious. Why don't you work with game developers and such to root out toxic players that use exploits, cheats, and DDoS instead of banning people over some words. Ever heard the saying "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me"?

In closing, I have already begun the process of leaving behind this toxic and authoritarian community. You should all be proud of this "safe" space you have created. More and more gamers get exhausted and worn out because of the toxicity that Microsoft enables and these idiotic policies that impact nothing. It would be different if these bans actually worked, but there is a simple workaround. Now, I will just make a new account so that I may talk on it for tomorrow, or maybe i'll finally be able to set myself free from this idiotic platform. Do better, Microsoft, do better.

    Sincerely,

    Disgusted

    Words vs actual interference.

The enforcement standards needs a complete overhaul. People are being banned by just playing the game with no messages sent. Its a little ridiculous.

    Account permanent suspension

You didn't catch a permaban just for one infraction most likely, you should check with enforcement and get clarity.
