Enforcement action because of petty complaints

My son has recently received an enforcement action for calling another gamer an idiot.

This other gamer regularly joins parties and then deliberately sabotages games to everyone's annoyance, thus my son had run out of patience and called the other gamer an idiot.

The other gamer made a complaint and the Xbox enforcement team in my opinion are completely over reacting by issuing a ban instead of investigating why this other gamer is getting supposed abuse, by that I mean they won't look at the cause of the trouble
only the end result so the wrong people are getting banned and this other gamer is using this method to be spiteful to other people for no reason other than it entertains them.

After looking into this myself my conclusion is that the person in question is using two accounts, one to run a party and thus allow his other account to take part to cause trouble.

Can a person request that the enforcement team look into this other gamer to see if they have a history of making spurious complaints?

Im sorry to hear about that but unfortunately Microsoft Enforcement doesn't monitor these forums so he will need to report the other person via their gamertag with all of the relevant information so they can be investigated. His best course of action
is to not engage but instead to block, report, and then move on.

Xbox Enforcement doesn't visit these forums, but what we can recommend is to not engage but instead to block, report, and move on. This will save you many future bans. Take a look through the Enforcement website and just keep the rules in mind for next time.

I just want to add that the automatic suspension system based on word-matching is completely asinine. I was being harassed, told to k!ll myself, etc., and called the guy an [mod removed], and I'm the one who gets a complete communications ban. You'd think
Microsoft was a big enough tech company to implement some actual machine learning and context engines to see a whole conversation when a message gets reported instead of just being like "oh yeah, I see the word [mod removed], this user MUST BE A HORRIBLE PERSON".
Because that's literally how it reacts. Shame on you, Microsoft. Get your [mod removed] together.
