    Endless loop in new Xbox Support beta privacy/family settings


    I'm trying to change the privacy/family settings on my kids' accounts to allow Minecraft multiplayer. I can't find the settings because of an endless loop in the Xbox support beta site. Games and Apps is probably not the right category for this, but I don't
    see a category that fits my problem. Perhaps a moderator can move this to the right place.

    How to reproduce problem:

    • Create microsoft and xbox accounts for child and add them to family on https://account.microsoft.com/family/
    • On Kindle Fire, open Minecraft, sign in to Microsoft account, and try to join server.
    • Get error message about child privacy/safety settings, which links me to: https://help.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/360042221252-I-m-Getting-an-Error-When-Trying-to-Play-Realms-with-a-Child-Account
    • The article links to https://account.xbox.com/settings - but none of the settings are there any more, because it redirects me to the xbox beta support site at https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/family-online-safety/online-safety/manage-app-privacy-settings-xbox-one
    • See message "Note To play Minecraft Realms, you need to set the
      You can play with people outside of Xbox Live, You can create and join clubs, and
      You can join multiplayer games safety settings to Allow. You can update these settings on the
      Privacy & online safety page for your account."
    • Click on "Privacy & online safety", which is linked to https://account.xbox.com/settings ...
      which redirects to the page I am already on.
    • Try the other option, "Get the Xbox Family Settings App", which turns out to be in preview/beta, and I can't install from the App Store.
    • Try installing Test Flight in iOS so I can install the app beta, only to get a message that the public beta is full.

    Please, what is going on? Is there any way to get back to https://account.xbox.com/settings so I can adjust this??

    My answer in this thread with the same question may help. I’ve gone through all the steps in detail to adjust privacy settings for both adult and child accounts, and have explained the redirect loop between the privacy settings and support page, as well as how to resolve the error.

    Simply put, if you’re on a child account (under 18 in most countries) or in a family as a child, then you won’t be able to access the privacy settings page. An adult from the same family would need to adjust your privacy settings in family settings for you. If you’re on a child account but not in a family, then you’ll need to join one to be able to do this.
