  1. Enabling sound from a connected monitor with a headset

Quick question. I have my Xbox One connected up to my PC monitor (and it's a pretty good monitor) though it doesn't have any speakers. I have heard that it is possible to get sound from the console if you attach a headset to a controller. I have a headset
attached but I'm not getting any audio from it. The headset, like my Xbox One and monitor, is new as I just bought them a couple of days ago. Any ideas?

    :)

  2. Xbox one stereo headset quality vs Tv headphone jack quality

About Xbox headset and Sound quality.

ok so let me describe my setup. since I never liked the image quality of TV's for gaming, i have my xbox connected to a PC monitor. and my headset connected to the monitor as well. I am very used to the sounds of all the games i play. Yesterday, i recorded
a clip from battlefield 4, saved it to one drive and played on my phone with the same headset and was blown away by the sound quality. it was 100 times better than i am used to playing. The riles, bullets, environment, everything sounded so amazingly accurate.

This got me excited so i connected my xbox to my TV which is Sony and connected the same headset to the TV. to my surprise the sound was amazing! like the recorded clip. so i thought id purchase xbox one headset which comes with an adapter to plug into the
controller. i purchased but the sound quality is like the previous one, like when i was connecting to the monitor. But when connecting this same headset to the phone to play that clip or to my TV the sound quality from this headset again is amazing! would
anyone know about this? is my tv or phone processing something that the stereo adapter and monitor is not able to process? maybe i need to change some setting for the adapter?

    Problem with audio

Hi, I got a new xbox one S and I connected it with my monitor across HDMI and I put cables from reproductor Genius SP- HF 1250 B into this monitor but the sound goes just from monitor, not from reproductors.

Hello, you would need to purchase a stereo headset designed designed for the Xbox One in order to get your game sound through your headset. Microsoft has their own variant

    www.xbox.com/.../stereo-headset
but there are third party companies which sell certified for Xbox One (Just make sure it says it's available for use with Xbox One).

    Third party XBox One headsets
    www.xbox.com/.../third-party

If you buy a third party headset you may also need to purchase the Xbox One chat adapter so you can connect your headset to your controller

    www.xbox.com/xbox-one/accessories/headsets/stereo-headset-adapter

Some companies include them in the box, some don't.

Either way if it comes in the box or not you need to wire your controller up to your Xbox One in order to download the firmware for the chat adapter to it

    xbox one s

Yes, you can use the Xbox One/S/X with a PC monitor with a hdmi connection. bear in mind though, if the monitor does not have speakers, then you will need to use a headset for sound.

Using Headset and PC screen with no inbuilt speakers

Hey there Coggit! Thanks for posting!

You should be able to use a headset as your primary sound output device from your Xbox 360 console (assuming you're using a compatible headset). Do you have a particular headset in mind that you're thinking about using?

I personally have experience using an HDMI cable to connect my console to a monitor, then using an HDMI Audio Adapter to connect to my headset; which let me have game sound through the headset.

    I found this support article:
Connect Your Xbox 360 Console to a Sound System
. Obviously this is not for headsets, but it should give you a look at some of the cables/adapters I'm talking about here.

Please let us know if you have any questions! =)
