    Enabling license transfer for Digital Game Copies


    Hi,

    I personally like buy most of my games as digital copies. I like not having a disc, since most games have to be installed on our xbox anyway, but the only downside is that you can't sell your copy, unless you sell our hole account (if you even allowed too
    do that).

    Could it not be a option in the Administration of (Apps/Games) to be able to transfer Licenses to another account. This way you can sell your copy of a game or give it away to someone. I know that gold members have some (free) game we got from gold, but
    either only let us transfer (App/Games) if we paid for it or transfer all regardless.

    Digital copies of games vs Physical discs?

    You console gets a license when you purchase digital copies so anyone on your console can use the game.

    I haven't heard of a dual-license digital purchase.

    question regarding "ready to install" BC titles

    As others said you need to buy new copy that is digital if you want to own a copy digitally. You can't transfer licenses because there is no way to validate you didn't sell your copy but keep the game, would need always connected system (like originally planned every 24 hours) to do what you want.

    Maybe one day in the future we will be able to transfer the license on the physical disc to a digital copy. I could see something like this happening if more and more developers stop making physical copies of the game.

    Home Gold will probably work just like any digital license. Your Gamertag has a copy and your "home console" has a copy. It will probably be as simple as transferring licenses on 360 if your "home X1" breaks down.

    Hello FlaRe Decay, unfotunately its not possible to play the digital version without the license.

    You can always request a license transfer if you've already used it, or purchase a pyshical copy.

    Physical games should be eligible for Play Anywhere

    A digital game is easier for the simple fact it is digital. It’s linked to an account universally and easier to transfer. You would need sort of code with the physical copy to enable play anywhere. If this was the case it would basically be like owning 2
    versions of the game.
