Empty Notifications tab in guide menu.

Hello all.

Lately I've been having issues with receiving notifications in the guide menu. Normally whenever I unlock an achievement, or someone likes/comments on a post, someone is LFG, etc..., that notice would show in the notification tab. As of now, nothing is being shown at all. Doing a quick hard reset/power cycle would fix it, but only for that moment when the Xbox powers on (much like pressing the refresh button in a browser), but even that does nothing now.

I've gone into all my settings to make sure everything that should be enabled is, even comparing my settings with an account of another user in the house (who doesn't have these issues). That leads me to think the issue is with my account, and I'm at a loss at what to do next. I've tried removing and then re-adding my profile, but things seem even more screwy now. Power cycles, hard resets, unplugging the modem, clearing the alternate MAC address, nada.

Does anyone have any suggestions about how I can fix this? I'm fresh out of ideas. Thanks in advance

May I know if you tried instead factory reset the console? (But keeping games and apps)

Go to settings > system > console info > reset and then select keep my games and apps

Also, may I know if you're using an insider build / beta OS in the console?

If not and in case you didn't try it, could be nice perform an offline update for your console. In that way Xbox system will be installed from scratch.

I was hoping that the reset was a last resort type of solution, but I did that anyway, and everything seems to be working properly again.

I don't even know what the insider build / beta OS is, so I couldn't say anything about that.

There are already options available that block notifications from popping up on the screen while playing games or watching videos. They are located on the preference tab on the Xbox guide menu.

Hey Sturdy,

This is called a "toast" or "notification." Having these show up is a preference you can define from the guide menu:

Make sure you're signed in
Press the Guide (Xbox) Button
Tab all the way right to "Settings"
Select Preferences
Modify "Notifications" settings

In notifications everything is On

when i press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then select System > App
& system notifications

it's always empty...
