Email not getting sign-in verification codes from certain apps?

This is my younger brother's account. He's having an issue where he cannot login to the microsoft store, xbox app, or the Minecraft launcher using his account. Whenever he attempts to it says it sends him an email code but does not. When signing into Microsoft services online he does get an email instantly and everything works fine. I tried to fix this by adding 2FA using the Microsoft authenticator app to his phone and turning off email verification. Even after doing that it still is saying its sending him an email and it is not. The crazy thing is that when I tried to login to these apps using my pc under his account it sends the request to his authenticator app. His Windows is fully updated and I reset the cache of all the apps. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks.

    :)

Can't login into Microsoft Xbox App

    Hi AntoRaptor85,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues logging in to Xbox App. I understand that you don't receive the security code that's being sent to your email.

Please check your junk email folder for a message from a Microsoft account, and use the code sent to you. Valid verification codes come from an @accountprotection.microsoft.com email address.

Mark @accountprotection.microsoft.com as a trusted sender to receive your verification code in your inbox.

Does your alternate email address end in @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com, or @msn.com?

If so, you're using one Microsoft account to verify another Microsoft account. This can make it tricky to keep track of which one you're signed in to. When you sign in to the second account (to get the code sent to that email), most browsers automatically sign you out of the first account (the one that's actually requesting the code).

    To get your verification code:

Using a browser in privacy mode, sign in with the first account. This lets you stay signed in to both accounts at the same time.

When you're prompted to enter the verification code that was sent to your alternate email address, don't close the browser window.

Open a new window in privacy mode. Ctrl + Shift + P is the shortcut for InPrivate Browsing in Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer. If you're using a different browser, check that browser's help for info about privacy mode.

In the new window, sign in to your alternate email account and look for the message from the Microsoft account team. Copy or write down the verification code from the message.

Return to the window that is asking you for the verification code. Enter the code and follow the instructions.

    Regards,

    Alvaro

    Not getting verification code email

Thank you for the response, I mostly only noted the two emails as means to explain that I am still able to receive the verification email, but for only one account, when I need it sent to the other account, and it's only when I try to sign in on the app store and Xbox apps that it requires me to use a verification code.

I can log in just fine elsewhere, like xbox.com and my console, just not the app store/ Xbox companion app on PC (because I'm not getting the verification that isn't going to my email)
