Email does not exist, but it clearly does.

I've been logged out of my xbox and microsoft accounts.

Attempting to log back into the account, I'm told the email I've entered does not exist. However, when trying to create a new account with the same email, I'm told I can't because the email is already in use.

When trying to log in on the xbox app, it's asking me for the password for a completely random email ive never seen before with the domain @rambler.ua

Some of my passwords were recently compromised, so I thought I'd been hacked, but I don't think that explains the weird way microsoft is acting about my email.

Does anybody know what I should do here? I just recently bought gamepass too, i'd like to be able to use it haha.

For how long have you had this issue? It sounds like your account was deleted and passed the grace period to recover it back. And a 5 year wait period is required in order for the same account name to be available again. That is if it is not accessed using other Microsoft apps.

It says my email address on the profile I'm posting this from, click the link I provided, that's my email. I'm also only here because I received an email notifying me of your reply -- because it clearly knows my account exists and what email it is associated with. When I click the top right, account management menu, it displays my email, but when I click "My Microsoft account" then suddenly my account does not exist.

1) Ask him to go to http://www.outlook.com, click on Sign Up or Sign Up Now to make a new Microsoft Account

2) Ask him to go to http://Account.Live.Com and click on
Edit Security Info below to fill in the missing proofs. He should have a) a cellphone number under Phone Numbers b) a different email under Alternate Email c) a Security Question

3) Then, while signed in with that new Microsoft Account, go to
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?Linkid=242792 and send a request to Microsoft Account Customer Support for a password reset so he can change his proofs.

Have him call XBox Support and if he can verify some information for them then they should be able to help him with this issue.
