email change on xbox one

You need to know the email address and password that you used to set up your Microsoft account. If you don't know them, use the
Lost Account Solution or the
Lost Password Solution.

If you already made the change you should know that it can take up to 48 hours for the change to your email address to be implemented across all Microsoft services. If you're still being asked to manually sign
in after 2 days, try removing your account from the console and then adding it back.

You need to log in online to MS account.

You then need to add another email account on the manage account settings page

After that email account has been verified you need to set it as the primary email.

Once the new email is set as the primary you can then remove the older email address.

If I kept his email on there, and added mine and made mine primary would his email account still get lost and then I get the emails? Or will everything still be the same.

all the alias is, is another name for the account, there is just one email account, all the email addresses point to that one account. you basically need to create a new account for yourself and start over. there is no way to transfer your xbox account or content to a new account. the account you are using is your dads basically.

the xbox account is also the microsoft account, they are one in the same. your xbox account is actually your dads xbox account as it is his microsoft account.

if you add your new email alias to the account and then remove your dads you then nuke his email address completely.

if you create a new account you will have a new xbox account and you will have to start over.

you can have an email account from the age of 2 as my kids did and you set them up under an adult account, this way they all had there own accounts.

so you will need to start a new account and keep your dads account on the xbox so you can access any digital game purchased.
