Email addresses on Xbox/Microsoft account??

I have recently created a new email address as a primary form of communication, as my old one was getting a lot of spam. I have gone into my account settings and changed my "alias" login email as well as my billing email to the new one, however all emails
relating to my Xbox account are still going to my old email address. It's been changed for close to 4 months and I am still receiving account related emails on the old email.

Is there some place else I need to change/add my email address? Because the only two spots I can find is my "alias" and my "billing" email. I have also been able to update my "security" email. Idk where else to look for the old email as to why it is still
linked to my account somehow......

To change the email address on an Xbox profile, you will have to change the email address on the Microsoft account (which is associated with the Xbox profile).

How to Change your Xbox LIVE account information

Overview

It is possible to change information associated with your Xbox LIVE account like your name, address, phone number or email address.

Note: You cannot change the country that is associated with your Xbox LIVE account. If you have moved to another country and you would like to access Xbox LIVE from there, you have to create a new Xbox LIVE account in your new location.

1) Go to My Account and Sign In with your Microsoft Account. (This is the email and password that is associated with your Xbox LIVE account).

2) Make the changes you want to your billings account information and then click Save.

1) Sign in using your Xbox LIVE gamertag.

2) Proceed to Settings, and then select Account.

3) Select Your Information, and then go to Billing Information.

4) Sign In with your Microsoft account password.

5) Change your billing account information and then click Done.

Hi there,

you can't merge accounts itself or fully move the Xbox Live Account to a different Microsoft Account, but something that could work for you is changing the primary email address for the Microsoft Account.

My assumption what steps might be required are:

- Change the primary email on the New Unused Xbox Account account to something else (you might need a new MS account/email for that) so that the Wanted email address is no longer attached to a Microsoft Account.

- Change the primary email on the Old Xbox account to the new wanted email address, so that that Wanted email address can be used to sign in to the Xbox main account.

if your email address is a Microsoft email (@hotmail, @live, @outlook) then you wont be able to remove your account from the Xbox account.

removing Microsoft email accounts from Xbox accounts permanently deletes the email account and you will no longer be able to access it

all you can do is add an alias email address then promote that to be the main email address.

There is no way that a Microsoft account is linked to a Xbox profile with another email address. The Xbox account is part of your Microsoft account, so both use the same email address to sign in.

If you linked the Xbox profile from the Microsoft account that has the active Game Pass Ultimate subscription, then it will work. If the Xbox profile you added is from a different Microsoft account (another email address), there is no way around this.

if they are Microsoft email addresses then they are permanently linked to the Xbox account.

if you add an alias email then remove the Microsoft email address it will delete the Microsoft email account and you will no longer be able to access anything else connected to it, such as Office 365, and you will no longer be able to send or receive emails
on that account
