Elite Wireless Controller 2 Charging Dock Doesn't Work

Hi there,

I have a new Xbox One X Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 controller.

After each session I sat it on its charging dock and assumed it was charging, until many hours of gameplay later I noticed the little orange 'low battery' light.

Interrogating the issue I determined the USB-C cable charges if directly plugged into the controller, but not if used via the charging dock.

Xbox Support doesn't actually have an option for this problem, nor do they let me contact them directly as 'phone calls and chats aren't available for this issue'.

So here I am requesting assistance

HMmmm I'm glad you got it figured out. I will remember that when I get mine in. Should be in the mail anytime.

Yea the cloth helps protect the contacts and I like Microsoft showing they care for their consumer and product.

So turns out I've got to peel back the velvet cloth thing that's stuck to it and have direct contact with the charging heads. Interesting design.

Do you have a warranty on it, if so i would get a replacement.

Sometimes in certain cases the adapter plug will have a loose connection.

I had a similar situation with a charging dock station, i found out that the plug and the station that the controller sits on had a loose connection on the inside, but luckily i had a warranty on it and i was able to get another one.

A charging dock is included with the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2. Plug the USB-C cable into the back of the dock and then plug the other end into your console or PC. Once the dock is connected, gently place the controller onto it to begin charging.

Have you tried that?
