Elite v2 Controller A button broken (input registering).....

Ok, so this is for @Thomas Schersach, #Thomas Schersach. I'm not sure how to tag him but wanted him to be aware I had this same issue when I purchased my Elite 2. specifically just for use for my PC Games. The game I purchased was for PS Platform and I play XBox, so PC was the next best option (via Steam). I came across the issue when I purchased an older game (Horizon Zero Dawn) and wanted to play it before purchasing the new one-Horizon Forbidden West-TB released ~9/2022. I didn't like the keyboard functionality and having to remember way too many shortcut keys/key combos so I got the controller, so much more enjoyable for game play. Anyway, my A key would work but only for 1 touch selection, not holding down. In this case, it didn't work to sell items to a Merchant in the game; part of the premise of the game to buy/sell items to get shards and upgrade your equipment. I did read through the other thread and this is what worked for me....on a PC/laptop you need to download XBox Accessories App and install it. Use a USB-C and regular USB cable. In this case I used the same charging cable for the Elite 2 and plug it into your PC/laptop and your Controller. Open the XBox Accessories App. It will prompt you to do custom mappings,etc. but skip through this, you can always do later. Once it recognizes your controller it should prompt you and tell you it needs an update. Once it's done you can unplug the USB cable and retry your game. This worked magic for me so I hope that it works for others too!! I might've been able to synch it upto my Xbox as well and do the update that way, but I want to keep my controllers only tied to each of their devices.

Register your controller with it’s serial at the link below: my controller shows that the warranty ends a year after the purchase date. Im beyond 90 days and microsodt is still replacing my broken elite V2’s

I have the exact same issue in rocket league with the elite series 2 controller. I had to spend a while in training to figure out what was going on. Like you stated, it's only certain angles on the "A" button where it doesn't register. Once I find that
angle, I can press the button as many times as I want and it will not register. It's not your hardware. It's definitely the controller.

I was going to return mine for a replacement through their warranty program but it sounds like it might be a broader problem with all of their elite controllers. I can use my normal Xbox one controller (yeah, the $40 one) and not have any issues. I know
it's not my hardware.

Same problem, A button not always working on Elite series 2 controller, straight out the box. Returned it to Microsoft store, still waiting to hear back from them 1 week on.

I also have the problem with the A button. I bought the first Elite2

in the Moicrosoft Store .... again. Then I bought in the market and he also has the problem.

I'm [Mod removed- inappropriate] off! Now I buy a normal controller.

The original controller of my Xbox one X was already broken when unpacking!
