Elite series 2 X button constantly being registered

Went to the Grand Canyon for four days with my family - came back and my controller’s x button is suddenly constantly being input? The controller is just where I left it. I even zipped it up in the case. It’s just over a year old, I bought it last year early March. So quite literally a day or two out of warranty. What is this nonsense? It was literally untouched for 4 days now in the Xbox controller labs it shows “button pressed: X” constantly. Seriously now I’ve seen other posts about this that are now locked with one reply suggesting to power cycle or replace the controller. If anyone has had this issue and found a fix that doesn’t cost another $200 I’d love to hear it. Please

Hello SlimBeef, sorry to hear you're having trouble with your controller.

Although I do agree with setting up a repair or replacement of the controller I can understand where you wouldn't want to do that. Especially for the pricier ones. What I can suggest is that perhaps there's some gunk under or around the X button so you could try lightly dabbing a little bit of rubbing alcohol around the button to see if that loosens it up.

Had an Xbox Elite 1 for many years (but dead now...), don't own an Series 2 but never really see what reals benefits i have personnaly to find with the Series 2. Only things i want was "screenshot" dedicated button (on main Series X controller) or "Rapid
Fire" button (not on Elite series)... so .

I like the little changes to it, the share button is nice. But I will be using my Elite Series 2 Controller when the Xbox Series X comes out.

I think they'll change your controller again unless you want to stay with it
