Elite Series 2 Warranty - Canada

Warranties cover a like for like replacement if required under that warranty so as far as I know, yes, if you send an Elite series 2 in for replacement you will receive an Elite series 2 back.

Elite controllers come with a limited 90 day warranty like the regular ones do. You can send it in once for repair within the year though if you call support directly. I'm not aware of any extended warranty options in Canada outside of this one here

Thanks for asking this question about the Elite controller Series 2 here on the forums. Sadly, if you've purchased the controller from a 3rd party business, you would have needed to add an extension to the warranty at the point of sale via their process
as our Ambassador stated. The same could be said if purchased from the Microsoft Store.

Regarding the warranty for the Xbox Elite controller Series 2, you should be able to

register the controller online from the Devices service & replacement section of your Microsoft account using its unique serial number, just as you would a console. As with the console, this particular controller should list itself as having a full 1 year
warranty, unlike its predecessors (which cannot be registered separately online).
