    So I was finally able to gain the confidence to fully open my controller, after watching some videos, I cracked my elite series 2 controller, got to the Joysticks, and unsoldered the "Y axis" module.. here is the reason why... to the left is a part that
    was taken off a gen 1 standard Xbox one controller, the right piece is the 4 month old Xbox one one Series 2 elite controller piece... notice the major wear on the inner black ring? Boom. The wear looks like parenthese, and it made the input of my up and down
    movement skyrocket without moving it or when I laid the controller down, it would gradually go up... I've proven that this was the problem by soldering the gen 1 piece to my elite controller and it runs like brand new.

    My hopes is that those of you who sunk 180 bucks into these high end controllers don't lose hope. All I used was a soldering iron with a tip wide enough to touch all three prongs at once... heat up the old solder, slipped the piece out and installed the
    older one. The disk inside is easy to bend so be careful.

    The problem is not just the on elite 2 controllers its a issue with all controllers that use the PDP program because i have 3 afterglow controllers that have problems with joy stick drift i also have 2 power A controllers that have problems with joy stick
    drift as well and my brother has an elite 2 series controller that also has the same problem

    Drift with Elite controllers

    I have two original elite controllers and one pf the new elite 2 controllers that I got my son for Christmas. They all have drift issues with the left sticks. I hd thought it would be addressed with the new version, but I guess not. Please help
    make this right.
    Unfortunately, stick drift seems all too common in this current generation on Xbox, on PS4, and even on Switch. I wonder if it's because so many games use the sticks at buttons as well, which is leading to extra pressure being exerted? I've lost many controllers
    to stick drift, and looking at the forums and reddit, a lot of people are complaining about stick drift issues from day one with the Elite series 2. Fingers crossed that Xbox can address the issue for everybody affected by it.

    Hi Flea,

    Yes, I’ve been receiving the same issues.

    First Elite series 2 lasted the longest though still ended up with stick drift, button issues and bumper problems.

    Sent off to be returned with what I’m guessing to be someone else’s restored controller with sticky bumpers and stick drift as soon as I connected the “new replacement” to my console….

    Im guessing we are not the only ones with replacement issues….

    Anyone?…

    Ive gotten 2 elite series 2 controllers from amazon and both had stick drift out of the box. The second was even worse than the first. Amazon wouldn’t send me a 3rd and just refunded me.
