Elite Series 2 Repair/ Replacement

Hi Folks, I bought my Elite Series 2 controller back in December 2019. Now I've checked and registered my controller and it's still under warranty. Now REALLY stupid question but ive gotten the shipping label Microsoft sent me to send it to their repair/
replacement facility, so when I send my Elite Series 2 controller there, will they repair the current one I have and send it back to me or just send me a completely different elite controller?

Any info is much appreciated.

With controllers they typically just send a replacement since it's cheaper than repairing them.

It is just going to depend on what the issue is with the controller. If the issue is not one that can be solved, because you are under warranty, you will be sent a new controller. If it can be fixed then you will receive back the controller you sent in.

Really depend on the issue and time/cost of repair but all times i see people had to do the same trick, Microsoft send a completely new controller.

I would take it back if you are still able to, thats my recommendation.

In order to speed up the return, they send you a different controller. So you can get back to gaming as quickly as possible, instead of having to wait for them to examine the controller, find the fault, repair it, put it all together and ship it back. They
just take a new or refurbished controller and immediately send it to you.

Therefore it's important you remove all parts from the Elite 2 controller (the sticks, paddles and D-Pad) when you send it in, as you might get a controller without these parts as replacement.
