Elite series 2 controller warranty

So I've been trying to get my controller repaired or replaced since May. My warranty expired in June I believe. The two issues I am having is that my RB button doesn't work (which I've just adapted by setting the lowest paddles as LB &RB) and now both
of the sticks have a slow to center issue. I've talked to the support staff and they told me that unfortunately it is past its warranty so I have to purchase a new one. So my question becomes due to the COVID-19 pandemic is there a grace period for the warranty
on my controller?

They recently extended the warranty for elite 2 to one year. https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-network/controller/elite-controller-series-2-warranty . maybe this will help

The Elite Series 2 controller has a 1 year warranty.

If your controller isn’t working and needs replacing, go to https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/controller/controller-warranty and
enter the controller’s serial number at the bottom of that page. For the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, the 14-character serial number is in the lower centre on the back of the controller.

I would recommend an Elite series 2 WITH A WARRANTY. The series 2 is a nice controller to own but has a history of breaking down at the worst times. If you get an extended warranty it will make the purchase worth it.
