Elite Series 2 Controller Thumbstick Rotation

Going to try and describe this as best as possible.

When moving the right thumbstick in a circular motion it movement doesn’t match what you’d think it should. In the game this causes aiming to not be precise at all. It seems as any circular motion only goes so far before the X and Y axis have straight lines
snapping in. This is also just as evident when customizing the controller through the accessories app as it is in games.

Not sure how well that explained it, but that’s my best take on it.

I’m guessing it’s by design as it happens in every Elite Controller I’ve used. Unless I’m missing the true reason for it all I can think is: useless implementation and utter failure by the design team!

Each Elite controller series 2 comes with 1 set of paddles. You can order replacement paddles, thumbsticks etc.

Series 1 paddles, thumbsticks is not compatible with series 2.

i have the elite controller series 1 and elite controller series 2 and the only thing interchangeable is the D-Pad IE:- if you want the silver one form the elite controller series 1 onto the series 2 ... the under trigers and thumbsticks are of a different
designs so will not fit .... i have just got both elite controllers out to make sure i am right in what i am saying

Thanks for taking the time to ask this question here on the forums. Regarding the thumbsticks on the new Xbox Elite controller series 2, the calculations refer to actions that can be taken by the thumbsticks themselves, so it essentially the following (pardon
for the loose translations):

Radial - based on radius of full or half-circle movements made by the thumbstick,

Independent axis - based on the X or Y axis (up/down, L to R movement)

True Diagonals - would mean true 90deg diagonals based on the X/Y axis

For further information regarding any settings on this particular controller, I'd recommend checking out the following support articles that can detail what can be done more explicitly:

Adjust the thumbsticks on your Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2

Use the Xbox Accessories app to customize your Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2  

In general, it would be a good idea to test out different settings, just to see what works best for you and makes you more comfortable in gaming with the controller.
