Elite Series 2 Controller Issues on PC with some games

So I recently got the Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller to use with my PC and I've experienced problems with some games. I've previously been using a DualShock 4 and DualSense 5 controller via Bluetooth connection on PC with the DS4Windows utility and that combination has worked with all games.

However, attempting to use the Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller via Bluetooth is proving a problem with some games (not an issue with the other controllers mentioned) and fine in other games. Far Cry Primal was the first game to reveal the Elite Series 2's problem and more importantly there are issues with Battlefield 3 where the Elite controllers button and stick mapping is all jumbled, i.e the RB button on Elite controller acts like button A for 'jump' and the A button on the Elite controller acts like the cross pad up button. Going into the Options Menu and then Button Mapping within Battlefield 3 confirms this to be true when you try and change the input. Therefore pressing the physical A button on the Elite controller when the button mapping option waits for the new input, returns the result that you've just pressed the cross pad up button on the controller despite yourself having just pressed the A button.

The Xbox Accessories App shows all corresponding input button presses to be correct and the XInputChecker utility found within the DS4Windows App utility also reports every single corresponding button action to be correct as well. Therefore why it is some games have an issue with the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller but 'not' when a Playstation controller is emulating XInput through DS4Windows, is a complete mystery.

Again, just to reiterate that this problem is not present with the other controllers mentioned above.

Ok so I managed to get it working in Battlefield 3.

I have two copies of Battlefield 3 which I purchased a long time ago in Origin and more recently in Steam. For some reason, I had chosen the Steam install which is more winded as it fires up both gaming clients Origin and Steam. Therefore I don't know if the issue was because I have the Steam version installed, but I found that going into the Steam tab at the top left Menu options and then Settings>Controller>General Controller Settings and then enabling the checkbox for "Xbox Configuration Support" appeared to resolve my issue as this was not enabled. This is still strange because the majority of all other Steam games work ok with the Xbox Elite series 2 controller 'without' the Xbox Configuration Support checkbox being enabled - but go figure!

Anyhow I was going to delete this post as there was no feedback nor replies, however I thought I'd update it instead with what I found to be the solution in case it may help someone else.
