Elite Series 2 Controller: Charging Battery

    Hello,

Does anyone know if it is harmful for the battery if it is left charging over night?

My current setup is having the charging case always plugged into the Xbox and then I leave the controller on it to charge whenever I am not playing. I know there are other electronics that automatically stop charging once the battery reaches 100% to reduce
battery degradation. Does the Elite Series 2 have a built in overcharge protection, so that it’ll stop charging once it reaches 100%? If not, ill stop charging it all the time and only charge it during the day after the low battery light eventually turns on.

    :)

    Xbox series x controller question

    Hi,

I u understand that the Series X controller will be using a USB C connector to charge the battery (same as the Elite 2 controller), so charging stations that use micro USB won't work.

Xbox controller Elite series 2 disconnecting issues

My Elite version 2 controller has never disconnected but the internal battery will NOT charge. It is a brick unless it is plugged in with the USB wire or sitting on the charging dock. when plugged in or on charging dock the white LED light blinks but never
goes to a solid light even after 10 hours sitting on the charge dock. I've never seen the LED light go to color "amber" to signify it has a low battery. 180$ for a wired controller less than 8 months old.

I contacted support they told me it would bee 100$ to REPAIR!! because my 90 day warranty was up lol. 90 days for a controller they say "should last a lifetime".....

oh and option #2 they sent me a link to buy an Xbox "play and charge kit" ...lol for an Elite Series 2. The Elite Series 2 that has an INTERNAL BATTERY!

I am beyond pissed off and I get everyone's frustrations on this thread. This is all after going through 4 series 1 elite controllers.

To me it's absolutely UNACCEPTABLE that Microsoft wont at the least repair these controllers that are defective. Not broken but defective. And I mean repair for free or shipping charge ONLY.

Elite Series 2 controller is not charging, but works plugged in.

Hello Wesley,my name is Marvina, I will be happy to help you.

I'm so sorry to hear that your Elite Series 2 controller is not charging. It's a frustrating problem, especially if the controller is already out of warranty.

Since you have tried different cables and updated the controller without success, the problem is likely with the battery or the controller's charging circuit.

Here are some things you can try to fix the problem:

    Try cleaning the battery contacts.

The battery contacts may be dirty or corroded, which may prevent the battery from charging properly.

You can clean them with a soft cloth and some ********* alcohol.

    Try replacing the battery.

If the battery is defective, it may prevent the controller from charging. You can purchase a replacement battery online or at an electronics store.

Try to repair the charging circuit. If the battery is in good condition, the problem may be in the controller's charging circuit.

This is a little more complicated to repair, but you may be able to do it yourself if you have some DIY skills.

If you've tried all of these things and you're still having problems, you may need to replace the driver.

Here are some tips to avoid this problem in the future:

Avoid letting the battery drain completely. Letting the battery drain completely may damage it.

Charge the controller regularly, even if you're not using it.

This will help keep the battery in good condition.

These are basic solutions to these problems, but they can lead to a solution, remember that this is a public forum where we are players like you who want to help, good luck and happy day.

    Sincerely,
    Marvina.
