    Elite Series 2 Calculation Settings

Now...it's been a while since people have asked the same question and,

personally, despite that fact, I still couldn't find an answer beyond the same

wishy-washy, copy/paste responses that explain nothing but, for some

reason, float around the Internet as if they did!

So - can someone explain exactly how "Radial", "Axis-Independent" and

"True Diagonals" settings differ from one another practically and/or how

they change the sticks' (particularly the right stick's) behavior, please!?

And explain it to me as if I was a four year-old i.e., "if you select radial, your

character movements do this, that and the other" or "if you select true

diagonals, the movements are more/less like that".

And don't just copy/paste some technical jabber and expect me to make

sense if it as if it somehow was my fault I'm not a game programmer on the

    side, please.

If you can't give a specific, to the point answer, because you know what

you're talking about, please don't bother replying at all.

    Thank you in advance.

    :)

    Hello MIKΞ,

Thank you for reaching out to us about your issue!

As of writing, there is no official documentation that we can provide you regarding the Calculation settings. We suggest testing out the different calculations in multiple games to see if you notice any differences in the performance of the thumbsticks while playing.

We appreciate you for notifying us about this issue and will be investigating to provide a solution.

    Thank you,

    Hi

Thanks but that's just not good enough.

You've been repeatedly asked by customers about that since the product was released.

Hell, since the first Elite Controller was released, I bet!

So how does it work when you say "no official documentation"?

Does that mean that whoever designed the software, I don't know...made it all up!?

It's like selling someone a car and saying to them "well, there are a few breaking and

accelerating settings you can implement but we have no idea what they actually do...

...but we recommend trying them all out...especially at high speeds and on icy surfaces...

...oh and make sure your kids are in the vehicle when you test them 'cuuuz'...it'll be fun"!

    :-/

This is the Microsoft corporation we're taking about here! And the controller is one of

Microsoft's best known and popular pieces of hardware, too boot!

I would understand if I was asking about a 1998 discontinued component no one even

    remembers existed.

Imagine a kitchen appliance manufacturer telling you to experiment with their microwave

oven because who knows what it does!?

"I mean, we had a party that day and the people who designed the oven, sir, were high on

PCP so they pretty much put the damn thing together and pushed it out the door. Here is

an idea, sir - why don't you test the oven on your cat to get a better feel of the settings!?"

    :-D

Isn't there a team of dudes who designed this thing sitting around a Microsoft cafeteria

some place!? Why don't you...I wanted to say "page them"... :-D

Why don't you, uh...send an AI drone to their house and tell it to say "You've got work to

do, pal!", huh!? Or, I don't know - tweet them or something!?

What the hell - give me their email! I'll do the work for ya! I'll email them directly!

    How's that!?

Or are you gonna stonewall me and give me the usual "there is a process" reply.

Perhaps you'll tell me "the issue needs to be" cough cough "escalated"!?

xbox elite series 2 thumbstick calculation feature, what does it mean?

    Hi ,

Thanks for taking the time to ask this question here on the forums. Regarding the thumbsticks on the new Xbox Elite controller series 2, the calculations refer to actions that can be taken by the thumbsticks themselves, so it essentially the following (pardon
    for the loose translations):

    • Radial - based on radius of full or half-circle movements made by the thumbstick,
    • Independent axis - based on the X or Y axis (up/down, L to R movement)
    • True Diagonals - would mean true 90deg diagonals based on the X/Y axis

For further information regarding any settings on this particular controller, I'd recommend checking out the following support articles that can detail what can be done more explicitly:

Get to know your Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2

Adjust the thumbsticks on your Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2

Use the Xbox Accessories app to customize your Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2

In general, it would be a good idea to test out different settings, just to see what works best for you and makes you more comfortable in gaming with the controller.

I hope that this information helps out!
Oh okay , thank you very much for this response.
