Thanks for the detailed information Caring Pair. And Top 10 speaks volumes especially with over 180 games and much more in your gaming life.

Elite Dangerous seems like a solid game. I just worry about the grind.

 

I was not referring to PC vs Xbox players but rather early players vs those who come in later.

Say for example I buy the game six months after launch. I am coming into a game universe where there is a sizable community of people who are way ahead of me, can destroy my ships pretty much on a whim, and can block me from progressing whenever they like.

That's not really fun for me. I tried Day Z a few months back it was just me dying repeatedly at the hands of players who've been playing a while. I've no way of getting better equipment because the longer term players just wipe me out.

As I said earlier, you can play Solo or in a Private Group if you don't want to play with other PC's.

Even Open is an option as there are LOTS of systems and to avoid others you head for remote systems. I started three months after release and had no issues growing my position. However, most established players ignore Sidewinders, some will even help you.

It's a concern to not get beaten up by more experienced players, but not a big one. Cheers.

 

Not really important (game is still "far away") but do i must be in a faction or can play without one and act like Eastwood character in "a fistful of dollars/Yojimbo" ?....

 

You can ally yourself with a group or faction, or be independent. I do my own thing as I play irregular hours.

You mean other players (clan),that's cool.

And is it harder to play "lone wolf" or in a group,without having a faction watching your back or giving you tasks....

 

Sounds a lot like a dumbed down version of Star Citizen.

They call them WIngs. Up to four PC's acting on the same mission. Or do it by yourself. You choose.

It looks cool though. Not a fan of the cockpit though; too many holograms, not enough monitors, and poor lighting and there is way to much going on with HUD.

Has it already come out for the one or is it coming soon?

No insurance purchase needed. You just make sure your account balance is more than any rebuy on your ship. I think this is 5% of the value of your ship.

If you have the rebuy money in your account on ship destruction, you get the exact same ship back, less cargo.

 

Hope they show some of this and WoT at E3
