Elite controller with sticky left trigger

My elite controller is amazing I love almost every bit of it.

The issue I'm having now is when the hair trigger is engaged on the left trigger it becomes sticky as if the part that blocks the trigger is covered in adhesive. The sound it makes is maddening and it does not feel right at all. The trigger seems to work
but the stickiness is driving me up the wall.

I know I can't exchange it in store right now because they are all sold out. What should I do?

title says it all...... i have a brand new Xbox one elite controller and the left trigger Is extremely sticky when in hair lock. Almost unbearable..... really shouldn't be happening on a 150$ controller. will this go away after time or will I have to wait
more time for a controller I already payed and waited for?

Hey, MR WUF! If it's a brand new controller, I suggest taking it back to the retailer for a replacement. Even with it in warranty, we still require customers to pay shipping for controller repairs. This thread is a bit old. If you need assistance with another

I have 2 Day One Controllers, 2 AW LTD, 2 Regular, 1 White, 1 Titanfall, and now 2 Elites. Every one of those controllers have some sort of sticking issue. I was hoping paying a premium would get a better controller, boy was I wrong. Those controllers at
least have some mileage on them.

I use my brand new elite controller day one and the right thumb stick is already sticking to the right and slowing turning the camera when it should be in the neutral position.

I'm starting to feel like your biggest profit line (accessories) are being made to break and require new purchases regularly. I don't understand how all of my 360 controllers can still be working flawlessly and these are wearing out in less than a year.

If your store is unable to offer a replacement currently it sounds like your best option is to set up a Repair/Replacement over on our Online Service Center. You'll need to register your Xbox One there, after that you can select an accessory to replace.
Definitely want you to have a completely functioning controller ASAP.

I wouldn't recommend sending your controller to be replaced, I was going to do mine but I was told by an agent on the phone that there isn't much stock and that the turn around to receive a replacement elite controller could be weeks if not months.

 

are any of u guys with sticky trouble using pro grip ???

 

I just got an Elite console a couple weeks ago and have the EXACT same issue with my controller. When the left hair trigger is engaged, it feels like the trigger stop is covered in adhesive when pushing down the trigger. Maddening. I'm hoping that after
many hours of use the trigger frees up. I did see a couple Youtube videos showing how to free up the trigger by removing the back cover on the afflicted side and using a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover to clean away the sticky stuff. I don't
really want to do this as I'm scared of scratching the trigger or breaking the plastic cover when taking it apart. Not cool for a $150 controller.

Sorry to hear the trouble. Please make sure not to bump older threads, as this thread is from last year. We don't reocmmend opening your controller as it voids the warranty. If you recently purchased it I recommend reaching out to the retailer for an exchange
if you haven't already.
