Elite Controller Warranty

I purchased my elite controller in April of '16. I am a moderate, adult gamer and was excited about continuing my investments in the Xbox accessories. 6 months in, and my left bumper is stuck. I was surprised to find out that the controller that was designed
with the long haul in mind only has a 3 month warranty from microsoft with no option for repair. Basically, if I would like to have a functional elite controller, I will have to pony up another $150. This becomes a rather spendy investment.

Does anybody else have better luck with repair options outside of microsoft? I can think of better ways to spend $150 on a product that obviously is not as durable as advertised.

Extended Warranty - Elite Controller

The normal warranty on the Elite Controller is 90 days. Is there an Extended Warranty for the Elite Controller, like there is of an Xbox One?

I am the same kind of gamer as you and my left and right bumpers are both broke. This is crap. I paid twice as much as a standard and really go a third of the shelf life. XBOX One, what will you do about this? It was suppose to be this super tested unit......help

Well, I think Microsoft has realized that it simply does not need to respond to these kind of issues. Make something look expensive, market the crap out of it and sell it for a premium price and enough people will believe it actually is "elite", me included.
I did end up following the advice of Microsoft support and went to Best Buy to see if they would return it, but they just chuckled.

I did have a very pleasant conversation with my american express customer service who informed me that these kind of purchases are covered with a one year warranty under the credit card agreement and we immediately got the claim processed. Just an idea
for some of you that used a credit card to purchase this incredibly, elite controller.

Well, it sure would have been helpful if customer support provided me that as an option as well, instead of just purchasing a new one. In addition, this does not resolve the two major issues that seem to be very widespread:

1 - A premium product that is marketed as long lasting but appears to have issues with bumpers, drift and grips coming undone with absolutely the worst level of support.

2 - The fact that this controller is covered under the warranty when purchased as part of a XBOX machine for a whole year, and not the same 90 days.

It is a crappy product, and although I was happy with the feel of the elite controller, I'm going to take my $150 and put it towards something different.

 

My Elite controller has had connection issues since day one... and I have only like 20 or less hours on it.. It always disconnects!

That sounds like a different issue than the one being described in this thread. I suggest you make your own thread detailing the issue as much as possible for the best assistance possible.
