Elite controller v1 internal screw keeps coming out

Hi all!

I have had an elite controller for a year or two and have never had issues with it. However, last month my right trigger suddenly wouldn't press down. I removed the rubber and the side panel to find one of the internal screws had come out and got stuck behind
the trigger. Using a magnet I managed to get the screw out and then screwed it back in - the world was right again.

However, last night whilst playing my right trigger started feeling funny again and I am 99% sure it is the exact same problem.

Is there anything that Microsoft can officially do? It will be out of warranty now I imagine, but I just think it's a joke that when buying a supposedly premium product, that it should fail after such a short amount of time. How the heck
is a screw inside the controller getting loose anyway?!

I had the same problem with a regular controller. I used a threadlock and have not had that issue again.

You could go to an auto parts store and get some Thread Lock. When it is screwed in snug it will dry on threads and lock it down.

I see. Well I apologise for raising the post then.

I must say this is the most Microsoft way of dealing with things ever. They offer absolutely ZERO support when their expensive, apparently premium products are faulty, and then they ban you from talking about how you could fix them yourself.

Guess the best option is to just buy a new one for another £120, eh Microsoft? Funny how that happens.

Also, Sandy, I apologise for you receiving the brunt of my frustration. Please know it is not aimed at you. Thanks for your reply.
