Elite Controller: The right trigger stop switch doesn't slide all the way down when ...

    Hi,

I just bought my Elite controller today and while first holding it, I noticed an issue. The right "hair trigger" switch doesn't slide all the way to the bottom when toggled (it hangs a little higher up than the left switch, which is flush with the bottom
plastic), so pulling the trigger also pushes the switch down, impacting the plastic against the bottom of the switch crevice and producing an uncomfortable tactile crack, as well as a fairly loud click. Everything is great with the left trigger, but when I
pull that right trigger, it will get to the maximum pull position, but then it will pop in a little further as the toggle switch cracks against the bottom of the "valley" (which is where the left trigger switch is already, correctly, resting in the hair trigger
position). Does anybody have any advice or experience with this? Should I just return the controller or get a replacement? Because I definitely did not go out of my way to buy this premium controller so that I could find a new problem to stress over.

    Thanks!

    :)

XBOX One Elite Controller - How to Turn Hair Trigger Locks OFF

The hair trigger locks on the controller are the physical switches on the back which, when slid into the downward position, prevent the triggers from being pulled all of the way down. Since they prevent the triggers from being pulled all the way down
(can only go about halfway), games which need a full pull on the trigger to activate it won't work correctly. Though it is possible to keep the hair triggers in use if you use the xbox one accessories mapper to change how software reacts to trigger pulls,
if you can't use it, then just flip the switches back up for full trigger pull. The option for hair trigger has next to nothing to do with drivers or software: it is literally just switches that stop the trigger from being fully pulled so that it feels similar
to a digital input (but is still an analog trigger).

  3. Elite controller with sticky left trigger

I just got an Elite console a couple weeks ago and have the EXACT same issue with my controller. When the left hair trigger is engaged, it feels like the trigger stop is covered in adhesive when pushing down the trigger. Maddening. I'm hoping that after
many hours of use the trigger frees up. I did see a couple Youtube videos showing how to free up the trigger by removing the back cover on the afflicted side and using a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover to clean away the sticky stuff. I don't
really want to do this as I'm scared of scratching the trigger or breaking the plastic cover when taking it apart. Not cool for a $150 controller.

    Hello

I would suggest returning the controller to the store you bought it from. In most cases when doing that you walk out of the store with a new one instead of having to wait at least 2 weeks for it to get repaired.

If however you do decide to get it repaired then please follow these instructions

How do I adjust the triggers on Xbox Elite Series 2?

It is definitely the controller, same issue in GTA, 100% Throttle and Braking on the Elite controller, am I missing something, the triggers are meant to be 0-100 right?
Yeah, unless you create and load up a profile where the triggers are not 0-100, they should always be 0-100.

The Elite Series 2 automatically adjusts the trigger settings when you move the trigger stop switches, so that no matter which of the 3 positions you're using, the trigger will be at 100 when pulled in as far as it will go, unless you are using a profile where you manually changed that. So, it could be that that mechanism is not functioning correctly with your controller, and it always thinks you have the trigger stops on the shortest setting, even when you don't. That would make it so 0-100 would occur with only a very slight pull of the trigger.

If it's doing it with all games, even when you have the default profile loaded, it has to be something like that.

    Issue with Xbox one headset

To all who search and find this, I have found the answer....it's a design fault. If you slide the ear piece right down to the bottom position on the headset the sliding mechanism rattles. It doesn't rattle in any other position setting so just click it up
one place to stop the annoying rattle.
