    Elite Controller Sound Turning On & Off


    So I have own this Xbox one ELITE remote since last Xmas, in the last few months the sound in my headset, that is wired to the controller, will turn on and off on its own. At first I thought it was the headset so I used a couple different kinds, but this
    made no difference, sound would still come and go mid games. I have the regular Xbox controller and the headset attached to that works fine, it is only with my ELITE controller. Has anyone had this problem or know anything to do about it?

    Turning off instant on fixes the problem for me. I'm going to try turning off the "turn off after inactivity" setting.

    Also, the issue with sound cutting in and out for me was solved by turning off Dts surround setting. I was getting tons of issues with surround sound on. 7.1 uncompressed completely remedied that.

    Seems like I've just wasted close to £500 buying Xbox one ,elite controller and gold subscription only to keep getting game freezing or booted back to title screen tried ram flushes turning off reinstalling game may work once every few attempts looks like
    being cronus max and going back to Destiny on the ps4 so I can at least use the elite controller,funny every other game works lesson learnt

    What do you mean you "pull it off after it turns on"?

    Do you have the controller connected via USB cable? Are you using a battery from the Play & Charge kit and charged the controller via USB?

    Does the controller work if you use fresh, disposable batteries?

    Great responses so far, I would agree to try the batteries first and then possibly a USB cable but in my experience if the batteries did not fix it then I had to send it in for repair. It was real easy and I had a replacement or they fixed mine within
    about a week. Awesome service Microsoft!
