Elite Controller setup doesn't work

Thank you for posting on the forums today, I'd be happy to help.

Have you plugged the Elite controller using the USB cable that came with it to the Xbox and checked under your device settings that your controller is up to date?

If the controller is up to date then, we can troubleshoot the Xbox.
Hard reset and power cycle the Xbox to clear cache and reset the power unit. Make sure to physically power cycle the Xbox and don't restart from the menu.

Have you tried connecting your Xbox Elite controller to your Xbox One console via USB to force a sync? If that doesn't work, it sounds like getting your Elite controller repaired will be next option. Here is information on

So are you saying you've been sent a replacement elite controller and it doesn't work?

That adapter will WORK with the Elite controller.

When I got my Oculus Rift, the set included the older model of the Xbox Wireless USB Adapter with a Xbox controller, and my Elite Controller works on my Windows 10 PC with that adapter.

The newer version is simply a bit smaller.

So you do NOT need a special "Elite" wireless adapter (which doesn't exist).

It messed up my Elite Controller too, because now the mic on my [SONY] headphones doesn't work. Yet it works when i plug it into a regular controller...
