Elite Controller Series 2 paddles not working on windows 11

elite series 2 controllers back paddles won’t work

Each Elite controller series 2 comes with 1 set of paddles. You can order replacement paddles, thumbsticks etc.

Series 1 paddles, thumbsticks is not compatible with series 2.

Same issue here, after various updates to Windows 11.

Firstly, the device was before recognised as "xbox elite series 2" I believe, but is now recognised as a generic xbox wireless controller.

Secondly, the paddles on the back are now disabled if no profile is selected. However, if a profile is selected, the paddles on the back are recognised as the A, B, X and Y buttons.

Fingers crossed MS will update this soon! Great controller otherwise. I would like to be able to use the paddles though.

SOLUTION

Open xbox accessories app, then hit windows + R (run) and input this command:

xboxaccessories:\\firmwareupdate?legacyDowngrade=true

It should then give you option to revert.

Looking back at the image you posted, I may see the error that's preventing you from mapping your controller. To test this, please select the beaker icon





Once selected, and if your controls are mapped properly, you should be able to test all the currently mapped keybinds with your controller. Test any buttons that you have already bound. If no keys appear in the beaker menu, check to make sure that you have selected a specific slot for your controller bindings. If your controller is set to the "default" drop-down, it will not register any custom keys.

Below is a sample of a controller setup. You will see that the dropdown is set to slot one, and the controller will specifically display the keys that are registered to buttons.





If this does not resolve the error, please let me know. If you can also confirm your current firmware update for your controller, that would be helpful! For insight, the firmware update should be 5.13.3143.0.
