Elite Controller Series 2: Disappointments

After a long process, I've come to find out the the Elite Series 2 controller comes with a warranty from Microsoft for a maximum of 6 months. (The three Support representatives couldn't give me an exact amount).

A $200 controller has a warranty of 6 months.... That wouldn't be a terribly big deal, except they are KNOWN to have common defects, not limited to; Heavy Stick drift, Face buttons becoming stiff, Bumpers being defective, just to name
a few. Google anyway you want to and you will find plenty of people frustrated with how many controllers are broken either when they get them, or just within a few months of using them.

I got a Series 2 controller for Christmas last year. Two months ago I noticed stick drift, but it wasn't the worst thing in the world. Last month my bumpers started either double pressing or not pressing at all. When you're playing
competitively, this will ruin your chance of playing well.

Not only was it an expensive controller to start with, but when the problems started to get even worse, I called support and they informed me (She said) my 4 month warranty expired 3 days before I called. I talked to her, another gentleman,
and a supervisor within 2 days and they all tried, tried again, and eventually told me the "system" would not allow for any sort of grace period. They even told me they were swamped with the very same problems from other people. Now I'm spending another $105
within 6 months of purchasing the first one.

This IS a HUGE problem from Microsoft. Microsoft creates an incredible product - It has known and common defects, but they're not willing to admit that. Their best excuse is, "It's been over a few months. It's your problem."

Instead of, "We're sorry. No controller should do that to you after just a few months!"

I would love for someone from Microsoft to explain to me why this is, and what they intend on doing about these problems.
