Elite Controller Series 2 comes with built-in Stick Drift (worse than Series 1)

I bought a brand new Elite Series 2 controller. I tested min. possible deadzone of the sticks before any drift appears in Battlefield V & test software on PC.
The controller comes with drift especially on the left stick, same issue reported by other users - see video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YRE7yZiEtA

My results are:

Right stick deadzone set to 5 (if set lower than 5 then regardless of stick tension setting there's a slight drift in certain direction, only after you move the stick slightly)

Left stick deadzone set to 7 (if less than 7, then it drifts slightly to the right side only, sometimes even without stick movement) I also tested it on PC, same effect was confirmed. Seems like the S2 controller doesn't center itself to a complete 0. With
S1 Elite controller when brand new the minimum deadzone was possible to be 0 without any sign of drift.

My question is: is this a defect or that is the expected performance?

Thanks for reaching out to the Forums for clarity on this stick drift problem you're currently experiencing. I assure you that stick drift is not expected performance of any of our controllers. I concur with the previous posts that you might want to go ahead
and get your controller exchanged either the vendor you purchased it from or by visiting

device support for an exchange through Microsoft.

Yeah, take it back for a replacement, and if you are still not satisfied, you could always get your money back.

Exchange the controller for a new one. If it's that bad out of the box it's just a factory defect which is to be expected not only in a first run of most products but more so in products that are mass produced...it happens with everything. I've had many
different types of electronics that were bad out of the box but when I returned for a new one it was good.

Ive gotten 2 elite series 2 controllers from amazon and both had stick drift out of the box. The second was even worse than the first. Amazon wouldn’t send me a 3rd and just refunded me.

i got mine on release and 3 months later got stick drift that is 10x worse than anything i got on my Elite 1, I thought they were meant to make the Elite 2 better, not worse! Expected so much more from a control costing £150.
