Elite Controller Paddles Touch so pressing one presses both.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but my paddles touch on both sides they seem to overlap and seem really loose. I've closely looked at them and can see if one is pressed they both get pressed.

This doesn't seem normal, but they are loose I can fiddle with them to get them separated but when I use them they end up touching again.

Did I get a defective controller?

Xbox Elite Controller is the best addition to gaming this year

My favorite function of the Elite controller is you don't have to use the paddles to use the extra buttons.

You can press the little green buttons instead of using the paddles. The paddles are too sensative for me so I keep my fingers on the green buttons on the back, works best for me.

Xbox One Elite Controller Opinions

So I bought a Xbox One Elite Controller but I just cannot get on with the paddles on the back of the controller.

Is it a case of perseverance or does anyone not bother with using the paddles?

I thought I had a similar problem until I realised I had fitted the top two around the other way and they touched hopefully the attached image will show you what I mean.

Thanks for the image, I do have mine that way I wish I had taken a picture of them and boxed them up. I sent them back to Amazon for a refund. Mine were very lose they moved around alot and the edges would lay over each other so that when you pressed whichever
one was on top it would press the other.

Probably one of the biggest gain you will get from the elite controller is mapping the front buttons to the paddles on the back of the controller meaning no need to release the thumb sticks when you have to press other buttons on the controller.

It's not the paddles, the paddles work fine. It's the button the paddles touch, it won't work. I pressed the little button and it does nothing, it's assigned and everything, the button clicks too, but it won't say I pressed anything and won't work.

The shift button allows you to assign a secondary set of mappings to controls.

So, for example, in your screenshot the lower-left paddle is mapped to LS, however, if you hold in shift and press the lower-left paddle, it's then mapped to X instead of LS. That allows you to do 2 different actions with the same paddle, depending on whether you have shift held in or not.

Think of it like your computer keyboard. If you press the 7 key by itself you just get the number 7. If you hold down shift and press it, you get the & symbol instead. 2 different characters are mapped to the same key, and which one you get depends on if you're pressing shift or not.
