Elite Controller, no drivers?

I recently tried connecting my elite controller to my desktop pc(windows 7) and everything is great except for the paddles...it looks like the controller was recognized, it says "elite controller" but when I try to remap paddles outside of the Xbox app nothing
happens...when I look at the drivers they just look like the normal Xbox one controller drivers so I'm guessing that the paddle input either isn't supported or isn't a hard input somehow? If it's just not supported is there any chance of drivers or an app
being released that will allow us to utilize the extra buttons in back?

There were a few pc games I was looking forward to trying out with my controller since two extra buttons would be JUST enough for me to get by on Unreal Tournament. Hopefully support can be added soon but to be honest Ill probably just end up buying a 3rd
party controller with extra buttons.

Crackling of the microphone

Hello, I just acquired a new elite controller and when I plug a headset on, my microphone is crackling. While with my old elite controller, there is no crackling.

The Elite controller saves up to 2 configurations on the controller itself so the paddles should work with your configuration whether it's connected to your console or pc. You might of accidentally tapped the Sync button twice which disables the paddles
on the back.

Also you require the Xbox App in order to remap the Elite controller, it's available on Windows 10 which you can get for free if you have a legitimate version of Windows 7 or 8

I get that I need the app but I don't think you quite understand what I'm asking for... I can configure buttons that already exist but that's not what I want, what I want is when I play an emulated app or pc game with controller input when I press the paddle
for it to be detected as "p1" "p2" etc....it's already labeled so I don't understand why it's not detectable? I was trying to ask why that happens. So for example I launch counter strike and in the controls menu you click on a selected action, and then press
whatever key you want to remap to that position. However if you press one of the paddles nothing happens. Its like they are configured into software on the controller or something. Do you know why I can't use them without the app? I thought buttons were buttons
I don't understand what makes paddles different?

 

So for example I can make the paddle "A" or "Lb" or whatever but if ALL of my buttons are already filled up and I need a couple extra I can't utilize the paddles for that. Or so it seems anyway.

 

I have the same issue. The paddles aren't recognized when I try to play PC based games? it's like to computer still thinks i'm using the standard controller.

 

The paddles on the Elite controller can only be mapped through the Xbox Accessories app on the Xbox One or Windows 10, otherwise they default to ABXY. They are mapped through the controller itself, you press a paddle on the controller, the controller then
sends the mapped command to the PC/Console. Thus they can only be mapped to duplicate other buttons on the controller and cannot be mapped to commands that are "outside" of the regular Xbox Controller inputs.

Basically they aren't an extra 4 buttons, rather an alternative 4 buttons.

Also, if they are not responding at all, try double tapping the sync button on the top of the controller. When turning the paddles off, you get 4 short bursts of vibration, when turning the paddles on, you get one longer burst of vibration.

 

ah i see, that is rather unfortunate. Kind of misleading advertising on the store page, I was definitely under the inpression that these were in fact extra buttons...thanks for the paddle on/off tip too ill probably use that some time, i still like using
the paddles for things like clicking the sticks in. But Im still rather disappointed with microsoft this time around...between that and the double A batteries... lol
