Elite Controller LEGACY STICK REMAPPING

Why aren't you also petitioning games developers?

 

I have no idea what a Legacy control even is. Do I have to hand back my Leet badge?

 

@EnenDaveyBoy Because it would be much easier for the xbox remapping tool to enable it across the board instead of petitioning game developers. I'm hoping for a domino effect though that it would eventually get through to the game devs. I just feel that

@EnenDaveyBoy - Probably for the same reason I have given up on soliciting developers to include this. It's horribly inefficient to attack this on a developer by developer basis. It makes far more sense to address this at the system level.

To be fair, there have been successes over the years using this approach. Left 4 Dead, Portal, and Gears of War are examples that spring to mind where the developers were responsive to requests for this and kind enough to patch in legacy controls. This is
most definitely the exception to the rule however.

@Genchy - Your leet card is just fine. If you've never heard of it, be glad. It simply means that you are unlikely to be affected by the headaches that it entails.

IMO your issue is the OP doesn't read like a friendly request, or the opening of a discussion, it reads like fed up of going to the developers (or to lazy), and you expect MS almost via a demand to fix the problem which you blame them for charging a lot
of money for a controller.

The user voice only got 82 votes in just under a year.

Personally I would have written it very differently, and I would also grit and bear leaning different controller layouts it happens with different games all the time.

I am going to copy and paste this. I will give due credit for your words... but more than one thread needs to happen to even think this will work. Microsoft has been nothing but ignoring us about this and I want to flood them with these words. As should

I too was amazed at this! How could they leave this option out?

I just bought Doom only to become frustrated that they have no legacy configuration option (unfortunately I didn't check the available control schemes first).

The right place to fix this is really in software, but at the OS level. If Microsoft adds this one simple addition, then the controller will be truly customizable and legacy controls will be available independent of the game devs who somehow "forget" to
support this set up.

 

Please make this possible. Not having legacy controls in a game makes that game basically unplayable for me.

This would fix so many problems with simply playing games period. It would grant equal access to all games on Xbox for Legacy Thumbstick players instead of just the games whose developers are aware of and add Legacy Thumbsticks as an option in the settings
menus.

It's quite ironic that the Elite Controller (presented as letting players play how they prefer), despite it's obvious advantages over the normal Xbox Controller, does not have the original console thumbstick layout. It seems like such a simple fix, to swap
the X-axis of the sticks. This would let me play all the games I've wanted to buy, like The Witcher, and literally thousands of other games that lack Legacy Thumbsticks. Yeah, it really is a metric ton of games that don't have Legacy Thumbsticks and this could
fix that! Seems
