Elite Controller LEGACY STICK REMAPPING

Ok... To begin, this is not my first post, but hopefully it will be the last. It amazes me that a person can purchase a $150 (plus tax) controller, that boasts about it's custom controller remapped configurations, and it
DOESN'T have the LEGACY control stick option.

This is not something that I am alone in. I posted in the "user voice" forum a YEAR AGO and was only heard by other gamers like myself with the SAME PROBLEM. The
problem being: NOT being able to play countless games due to lack of Legacy Control stick support... Check the link... I am POSITIVE there are more out there, on reddit, twitter, wherever. I even have a Service Reference Number from
Xbox Support (sr# 1339854816).

Myself and several of my friends have passed on a PLETHORA of games because they don't support Legacy controls. Pre-orders? #fuggedaboutit !!! We have to wait until someone we know (who doesn't use legacy) has the game to confirm if it supports
legacy or not. Most of the time, it does not.

I'm so close to attempting to crack my xbox and modify the code of this "remapping tool" that fails to deliver. THUMBSTICK layouts seem to be the most important of the bunch and that remapping software is extremely weak when it comes to that.

PLEASE add the Legacy Thumbstick layout. All it would entail is a simple swapping of the X-axis of the thumbsticks. Make the left thumbstick horizontal movement, do what the right thumbstick horizontal movement do, and vice versa. Just a swap.


If the game developers are too lazy to swap the x-axis in it's games for 60 bucks ($100 these days with the DLC movement) then the LEAST Microsoft can do is offer its $150 ELITE CONTROLLER buyers that

Xbox One ELITE Controller LEGACY stick layout REQUEST!

PLEASE Microsoft... PLEASE have us be able to remap stick layouts as well. I am a huge FPS shooter fan, but can only play on Legacy control settings. I have missed out on WAAAAAYYYYYYYYY too many games due the lack of Legacy control settings. The Farcry
series, the Bioshock Series, and the Fallout series just to name a few. If you would also add a way to make the controls go to Legacy controls, myself (and many people I know) would be able to buy a ton more games. Controller mod companies don't even have
this option, as I have asked pretty much all of them to make a legacy modded controller. There was one man I found in the trenches of the internet who mods Xbox 360 Controllers to legacy, but does not do the Xbox One controllers.

PLEASE ADD STICK LAYOUT REMAPPING

Elite controller question

I read that you can remap the buttons on the Elite controller but I'm wondering if you can also disable them? I have a problem with the button under the right stick where I accidenatlly push it when I get excited. (aka Death Grip) I had a custom controller
made by some guy on eBay that disabled that button and moved it to an extra button on the underside of the controller similar to the paddles on the Elite. I'm wondering if the same thing could be acomplished using the remapping feature of the Elite? Can I
disable the right thimb stick button and reassign it to one of the paddles?

 

You could buy a Cronusmax or Titan one and do it yourself, I have and it was worth it.

 

Thanks for your suggestion, but why would I go buy a 3rd party hardware/software combo when XBox has an official remapping tool that specifically allows for the elite controller to be completely remapped except for this one single setting? And don't people
get banned from using a 3rd party modstick? I would much rather have xbox just add in that ONE setting for us.

 

The reason why is mainly to use the elite controller on all consoles.

 

I don't care about other consoles. I am reading up on those devices, but I'm seeing a lot of connectivity issues, lag, and also inability to use wirelessly with the Xbox. Doesn't seem like a good solution.

Which one did you get? And do you use it for Legacy Control Stick layout?

 

I bought the Cronusmax, I don't use legacy by default though have tried with a script, response time is fine. I'm not sure if the elite will ever be able to do this with the software provided by MS, though this may be hardware based. I'd really call a rep
and talk to them or try outside of the forums as we are all gamers here and not ms workers. Hopefully you'll be able to get some help from MS.

I think the xb1 controller to xb1 with cronus needs to be wired, with other consoles you can use a blue tooth dongle. I had it wired as it had no batteries, I'll check the official site next time I'm there. Also, so many people get sent here by MS staff
for the wrong reasons. I don't think Microsoft would completely support what I'm doing.

 

The Cronus adapters and their brethren do completely address the legacy control issue (personally tried and tested), and there will be no bannings because you used one to remap the thumbstick orientations. They present to the system as a standard controller.
They do have their disadvantages though.

First and foremost they can't be used with Xbox One controllers in a wireless capacity. The Xbox One wireless adapter uses an encryption system that hasn't been defeated (yet). The controller has to be wired, and given the flimsiness of micro usb connectors
I for one am certainly not going to string a usb cord across my living room. There is a very real possibility that someone tripping over that cable is going to damage the usb port on my $150 controller. No thanks.

Second, headsets that are wired through the controller can't be used. Full wireless headsets work since they don't pass communications through the controller, but those of us who use a standard communicator are out of luck.

I would also like to see this addressed. I am tired of begging developers to include this option and am even more tired of physically cracking open controllers to rewire them. I am now just passing on games entirely, and will continue to do so until the
situation is resolved.

 

The cable doesn't bother me and I never use a mic, I have an entire room just for gaming alone.

 

Well that sucks since it can't be used wirelessly. That is pretty much a deal-breaker. I refuse to be bound by wires (and discs) in 2016. I have the Turtle Beach Stealth 500x so I am good on that part. I just want my Elite controller to be able to play
wirelessly and have legacy controls.

Maybe we should start an online petition.
