    I back-ordered an Elite controller which arrived January 2016. The controller was adult owned and used (not abused), without issue for about 4 months. At the 5 month mark, I have noticed that the right joystick rides "up and down" in it's gimble. If you
    turn the controller upside down, the joystick will "fall" into place. It has about 1/4 inch of vertical movement in it. A long and unproductive chat with MS revealed that the product, despite it's supreme price (1/2 the price of the console), has a 90 day
    warranty. About the expiration length of the frozen pizza in my freezer. Anyone else having this issue?

    The Xbox "Elite" controller problem

    i bought first batch on pre-order as well back in October 2015, the rumble motor came loose inside controller in December 2015 or Jan 2016. They replaced within 2 weeks. I was playing NHL 16 back before 17 came out and my right side joystick caved in roughly
    1/8-1/4" and I've been dealing with the diminished circumference for months but it is now starting to drift upwards severely. My warranty is over on original "elite" but this replacement should have it's own, no? If they don't replace this under 1 yr warranty
    on defect from date of replacement I'm buying 3rd party. no other basic controller ever had these problems and i went through 10 regular controllers over the course of 360's life and 3 Xbox one controllers before i pre-ordered the "ELITE" controller.

    Oh and I had to register original controller over phone before repair, never has shown as registered device in my account, i also called the support guy that helped me and registered new controller, doesn't show up registered in my account either. I F******
    know this is gonna be a hassle to sort it out.

    First we can not discuss self repair on these forums as it breaks the code of conduct.

    Second, the warranty on the elite controller is 90 days in the USA/Canada and 1 year in the EU. Out of warranty repair is the cost of a new one.

    the elite controls, allow for greater settings on buttons even joystick, personal title I have played a lot of forza horizon 4 and the division and gears 5, and you had no problem with the control

    For some reason the mention of extra joysticks makes me think of an N64 controller, not because it has four joysticks but because it had the three handgrips on it. If you make the thumbsticks smaller, I'd feel like you'd loose some functionality from the
    controller by having to squeeze more things into it. Theoretically though, the keyboard and mouse-esque features would be possible to fine tune on to a controller for "extra" inputs... but I think that's why the Elite Controller exists. Idk, extra thumbsticks
    would kind of be weird in my opinion.

    Ive had a controller with the console for about two years now, about 6 months ago i used the build your own on the microsoft store and that controller has had sticky triggers and a right joystick that just moves down all the time. I ended up leaving it
    out for just display purposes and still use the first controller that is working fine. I do think its all down to luck of the build. Thinking of the new elite controller around christmas.....
