Elite Controller Joystick Drift - Not Even a Year Old

I'm posting this based on the feedback from the Microsoft Support rep. My son complained of an issue with his Elite controller we got him for his birthday, that it automatically makes his player move without even touching the joystick. I've just learned
this is more common than I would have imagined as many people have complained online about this "drift" issue. The frustrating part is the way support for this issue is handled. There are no repair options offered by Microsoft and the 90-day warranty has
expired. The options are solder a new module myself or buy a new controller; neither of these things are going to happen as we spent $150 not even year ago and now its bad?

I would like to ask Microsoft to please at least offer a repair option. You may not be willing to admit there is a problem with the "module" not lasting, but please stop sticking it to the consumer here. I would be willing to pay a repair fee of $20-$25 to
have this controller fixed and avoid shelling out $150 for a new one.

I doubt this gets anyone's attention, but hopefully Microsoft will do the right thing here...

Fix. Your. Drifting. Joystick

It can't be that difficult to make joysticks with decent pieces. Isn't the elite controller supposed to be the premium controller on the market? I've had debilitating drift in 3 regular XB1 Controllers, and now 2 elites; one after only a couple of months
as a replacement. My 8 year old XB360 controller's joysticks are worn down to nothing, but even they don't have mechanical problems. $150 for a piece of poorly made junk after this long with the same issue is ridiculous. I have the warranty, but I shouldn't
have to plan for a bi-monthly Best Buy trip on "premium" equipment. Stop charging people and claiming quality for something that is worth nothing after 2 months.

The 90-day warranty is the manufactures (Microsoft) warranty. Did you buy this controllers from a retail store. Are your country a participating member of the European Union?

My elite controller is doing the same thing. I've had mine for less then a year as well. I switch out my joy sticks depending on the game I am playing and the right joy stick is not seated correctly anymore and drifts. If they are going to create something
that you can switch the joy sticks but it makes the joy stick fail in less then a year why spend money on it. $150 is a lot of money for a Xbox wireless controller. I love the elite controller but if I have to spend $150 every year to keep using it its not
worth it. I also called Xbox support and they told me the same thing that I would have to buy a new one and there are no repair options. I would also be more then willing to spend money on a repair fee to fix or replace it but not $150 to buy a new one. I
hope Microsoft will hear and understand this is an issue that needs to be looked into.

Is there any current fix to this elite 2 contoller left joystick drift. Beyond annoying havent even had this controller but a few montths now.

Unfortunately the Elite controllers have a major issue of stick drift developing. Particularly on the left joystick. Even mine failed after just a year. Officially, setting the response curve to Instant in the the Accessory App helps a bit or sending in your old one for a new controller at a slightly discounted price. Unofficially, I did have some luck extending the life out on mine by using the program 'reWASD' to better fine tune deadzones and such. Unless you are knowledgeable with soldering, I dont recommend replacing the entire Joystick module as you will likely just brick the controller entirely.
