    Elite Controller is Getting Hot


    So I took my Elite controller apart last night to clean some sticky buttons and noticed since I put it back together that it no longer turns off when I turn my computer off (the XBOX button at the top appears lit all the time), and it seems to be getting
    hot. Elite Controller is Getting Hot :( It also doesn't rumble anymore when I plug it in. Did I ruin my controller?

    Elite Controller Syncing

    Hey Dol -

    Have you tried connecting your Xbox Elite controller to your Xbox One console via USB to force a sync? If that doesn't work, it sounds like getting your Elite controller repaired will be next option. Here is information on

    Feedback: Controllers for Xbox One

    The only issue i have had with an xbox one s controller was when i accidentally dropped but that is my own fault, other than that my controllers seem to last a long time, even my 360 controllers are about 6 years old (i have replaced the thumbsticks numerous
    times because of ghosting)

    I have had friends though that had controls break just after the 90 day warranty for no reason especially the elite controllers that seem to like to get really hot and burn out randomly.

    Is it a standard controller or an Elite controller?

    If it’s standard you’ll have to replace the controller unfortunately. If it’s an elite you can get it serviced or replaced if it’s still under warranty.

    Try to format it it might not be synced to that elite Xbox but if nothing call Xbox Support Hot-line for a new HDD.

    Try to update the controller, or it could be that the xbox is getting hot. Aren't you blocking the air passage?
