elite controller handle grip coming off

What can be done about this? I've had the controller since day 1 and I'm sure that means the warranty is over.

Elite Controller Grip Coming Off

Pretty simple problem. One of the hand grips on my Elite controller is peeling off. The controller still works perfectly, but the comfort has gone out the window. I tried some Krazy Glue and held it in place with rubber bands, but that did nothing. I've
done a chat with support, but their solution was to send it back and pay full price for a new one. Obviously I don't want to spend another $150 to replace a fully functional controller, but it is incredibly difficult to use it with one of the grips digging
into my hand.

 

Xbox One Elite Controller Grip keeps coming off

My parents bought me a Xbox elite controller for Christmas last year and now the grip on the back of the controller are coming off. Is it possible for me to get another controller or how would I fix this?

Sorry the grip is coming off your Elite controller. Unfortunately Xbox accessories only have a 90 day warranty, and this includes the Elite controller. If you did purchase on day one, then the warranty would be expired. Your only option would be to replace
the controller, or try to use an adhesive to get the grip to stick back down.

 

My grips came off as well. This is the LAST expensive controller I buy from Microsoft. The web is full of complaints about the grips coming off these $150 controllers and they should be recalled. 90 warranty is nonsense. These things are defective and should
be replaced. I will be sure to add this story to my signature on all my gaming profiles to keep others from making the same mistake.

 

If you're in the EU, the warranty is 1 year.

I've not had this issue, but what I had noticed is the paddle when I would tap they very gently, there was a certain small amount of free play. You have to tap very, very gently to feel it. This happened during the 2015 holidays (purchased in December),
right after it came out. I took it back to the MS store at my local mall and they exchanged it, even though it was according to them a warranty repair that should have been sent back via normal channels.

A controller that expensive and brand new, should not have any free play on the paddles, as the purpose of these are to provide the fastest input. I can understand if the controller was a few years old, but not brand new out of the box. Even the MS store
manager was surprised.

The new one appears to be fine, no extra free play so far.

 

We should class action suit them so they have to fix it

 

I tried contacting MS support yesterday about this same matter. The item is out of warranty at 90 days and if you want the controller repaired you have to spend $135.00 for them to send you a recycled one that they have already fixed.

As someone who has been with this company since day one and has bought multiple xbox, xbox 360's and last but not least 2 xbox ones and an xbox one s ... Im really upset as to how they can justify this product as elite. My grips and one of my analog sticks
have not worked properly for a couple of months now. Assuming I had at least a year on the controller due to the fact its supposed to be superior to any other controller on the market. Im at a total loss on how this can only be covered for 90 days...

This takes me back to the 3rrod problem with the 360 and the fact they would not warranty many of those units in the beginning and then out of being pressured by consumers extended the warranty period. I'm hoping this will be the case with this product.

 

The grip of my elite controller started coming off a few days ago, I keep trying to contact Microsoft about it but it's impossible, they send me to a website if I want to request a replacement controller and when I enter the number on the controller it says
it does not match the code for an Xbox product.

 

This is ****. They make a product with a faulty part, then make sure that it holds just long enough to get out of warranty. You expect me to believe that this multi billion dollar company didnt think, at any point in the development of thier custom "elite"
controller that hey, hands get sweaty when you play video games, maybe we should make sure the **** glue works in that condidtion? What the **** are we paying 150 dollars for? Fix this or I am going to migrate to Sony. Not like you have the exclusive games
to keep customers anymore.

The grips come apart from the controller, the bumpers break easily, the wiggle in the joysticks.... these "elite" controllers are budget built pieces of ****. Typical microsoft. build something nice out of cheap components and then OOPS YOUR WARRANTY IS UP

 

same lol. luckily i bought mine 6 months ago and have a two year warranty on them.
