Elite controller giving static shock

Has anybody experienced getting static shock from the paddles of the new elite controller while using the plug n play lead given with it. Cus I'm getting it constantly and now have to use rechargeable batteries as every time I use the plug n play lead n
playing say call of duty every now n then I'm getting shocked via the paddles.

As much as I feel its a downside to it. II have so much fun pranking my mates with it.

Elite controller and static

I bought an Elite controller and since I using it I have experienced static when using my Turtle Beach XO headset. I contacted Turtle Beach and they were unable to find anything wrong with my headset. When plugging in the headset directly to the Elite
controller I get no static. When I plug in my XO headset and module into my old controller I don't have static. But if I connect my XO headset and module into my Elite controller I get static. Any suggestions?

 

Xbox 360 controller stopped working due to static electricity

Static electricity is extremely detrimental to electronics of all kinds, and your controller may not make it back from the shock. Turn off your console and unplug the controller. Make sure you are free of any built up static electricity by touching a metal
object nearby. Then plug the controller in and turn on our Xbox console. If your controller works, then consider yourself lucky. If not, you will unfortunately need to buy a new controller.

 

when did you buy it and in which country?

it certainly shouldn't have it and needs fixing.

Aren't the paddles plastic? how can they shock you?

@ Enen. No, the paddles are metal. Steel if I'm not mistaken.

I'd be tempted to call support on that one. I'd say it shouldn't be happening. I don't use the plug & play myself. Just have 2 sets (4 total) of rechargeable AA batteries and swap them. I like them better. About the same price as the plug & play, for 2 sets
(Energizer 1400mah NIMH) and they've lasted over 2 years now.

Well this is a new one lol....... Cool feature, you die in game and get shocked lol.

 

Bought from game in UK. And the paddles are of a metal alloy material by the looks of it. It don't do it with batteries in just with the lead. The only thing I could think of is as they lock in with magnets n having a constant charge that they are storing
and conducting static with the constant bashing . Would be nice if there was hard plastic

 

Take it back to the retailer say its fault and get a new one.

 

It shouldn't do that because the console is earthed through the mains. Yeah, I wouldn't use it plugged in and maybe have the console tested.
