Elite Controller Faulty. Xbox wan'ts me to pay more for a replacement than a new ...

Talked to Microsoft Chat and the best solution they could offer me was replacing the controller for $150. You can buy a new controller off best buy for $135 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/microso...lack/9529009.p?id=1219704411472&skuId=9529009

They should be fixing my controller since the left trigger has gone out with no damage or physical issues on the outside of the controller. In stead they wan't me to pay them at their profit for a new controller.

Bad business goes a long way towards keeping me from buying more Microsoft stuff in the future, and I WAS a fanboy.

FAULTY Brand New Elite Controler

Sounds like the elite controller is faulty. Maybe it is time for a repair/replacement. Xbox One Support | Xbox 360 Support | Xbox Live and Billing Support

They give me no options there other than buying replacement parts for the swappable components (thumbsticks, paddles, d pad). Nothing about repair of the unit itself or replacement parts for the internals.

 

I assume you have warranty on the Elite Controller, and I would check with the store you purchased it from on how the return is handled for you to get a new controller.

 

Gamestop only offers a 30 day replacement, pretty standard for retail electronics. Microsoft won't honor anything after 90 days. Honestly that just isn't acceptable for a "premium controller" that costs $150 originally

 

I am chatting with another representative now. The new rep said "With the Xbox One Elite controller, indeed, I'm afraid that indeed, it only has a 90-day warranty replacement. We here in Support requested to have this extended for a year to our higher management
and we're still awaiting for any response from them"

So even Xbox support knows the controller should be warrantied for a year, Unfortunately "Management" just doesn't care to do what is right.
